Delete Table Rows (Blank) Macro Question
Hi all,
I have this macro delete table rows blank which does not work on a table
after I make changes to a row such as split cell 2 columns or insert rows
using CTRL ALT I - am I missing something? Is there a macro that can delete
blank rows regardless of how they are inserted.
If you just create a blank table using Insert Table, ie drag mouse across
number of colums rows and type in some rows it is fine and deletes blank
rows. The moment you add rows or split cells on a row it gives this error:
Runtime error 5941 the requested member of the collecton does not exist
(after running). Can I refine it to acknowledge blank lines inserted using
CTRL ALT I and split cells in a blank row? Is it viable? What am I missing?

I am inserting some text via vba from Acces into a Word doc.
It is working well except afterwards teh book mark is deleted.

To "walk" the paragraphs in a document "Story". Use
para.Range.Information(wdWithinTable) to determine whether you're in a
table.
Look up "StoryRanges" and all related/linked in the VBA Help if you need
to deal with anything besides the main body of the document (or look it
up anyway, to get an understanding of what it means).

I'm trying to check that certain elements appear in a certain order, for
instance that every table is preceded or followed immediately by text of
style "Caption". I feel I should be able to iterate through something
and hit a table and then a paragraph (and check its style).

Web formated calendar to unformated Word text

Reqd: a Word version of part of a calendar on a club website for those
without web access
The following pastes the copied section of the four column calendar

A hanging indent is no good unless there were some way of identifying and
changing the paragraph marks which do not precede the dates and changing
them to manual line breaks
Is there some way of identifying the dates and adding a second paragraph
mark before them?
A separate issue is to add a semi-colon between cells (the four columns are
'Date', 'Venue', 'Event/Name' and 'Info'. Without some break the line runs
into one and does not read well
If the date/time could be identified it could be emboldened - it is always
dd.mm.yyyy hh:mm

How can I go through a Word document sequentially, by paragraph, field,
table, etc ? I'm looking for the construct Paragraph followed by Table
followed by Paragraph. I can iterate through the paragraphs collection, or
through the tables collection, but how do you iterate through all pieces in
order ?

How to find style separator code through VBA?
In our company, we have a number of older documents that used hidden
paragraph marks instead of style separators. The purpose of both is to
separate headings from body text for easier generation of TOC. I am finding
a number of documents that have a combination - hidden paragraphs marks &
style separators - and it gets confusing to view these documents when hidden
paragraph marks turned on (pagination will change). While my routine works,
I do not like the fact that hidden paragraph marks & style separators do not
appear to be distinguishable programatically; visually you can tell the
difference because style separators have a light dotted frame around them.
I was wondering if there is a way to distinguish the style separator from
other codes.

Microsoft word window Tabs
I would just like to suggest that you have each new word document open in a
tab format like you have on the new IE7. The tabs should preferrably open at
the bottom of the word interface and be approximately where the properties
bar is (the bar that tell you the size and all the other info about something
wehn you run the mouse over it). This would definately give you guys a edge
over anything google is planning. Thank you.

Identify a formula field
I have code to delete bookmarks and unlink fields in a document once the
document is completed, as follows:

I need to NOT unlink a field if it contains a formula, only unlink the field

I have Word 2003 and Access 2003. I'm trying to write VBA code to open a
database from within Word.

global variables for whole project not just when user form is runn
Can anyone help me. I've got a template project with 2 user forms. Code has
to stop running between using the two user forms to enable the user to add
unique information and check statements created to that point, before
calculating of each statement occurs. Then the user re-starts the programme,
so I'm trying to find a way to retain the variable information contained in
the first user form, to be utilised in code for the 2nd user form. I already
know about declaring global variables within modules, but I'm talking about

Adding values in formfields
I am trying to create a function that will add the values of 2 text boxes
based on if the checkbox is true or false. I am using Word 2003 but it needs
to work on Word 2000 also.
If the checkbox is true then I want the value of Copy divided by Pages
If False then I want the value of Copy times the value of Sheets.
Currently: Copy, Pages, and Total are all textbox form fields

Version related issue
Hi
I am trying to pen a file generated by Word 2000 with Word 2003 and I get an
error that file may be corrupted etc.
This normally shouldn't happen because the Word can certainly read previous
versions
Additionally, the same program that was able to generate a document is not
able to do that any more (this machine has Word 2003 installed and the
program was compiled using Word 2000)

My boss has a Word table where she updates the status of each matter in our
office on a regular basis. Although I have explained to her that I have an
Access database where it would be more efficient to keep that data, she
refuses to learn anything about Access or to do it any other way. Therefore,
although it seems backward to me, is there a way to link the text field in
Word to automatically insert itself into a particular field on my access
database?

Deleting and Recreating a Numbered List
I am attempting to create a technical document to consolidate UML use
case diagrams within a document. This document has multiple sections,
including a section which actors for the use cases are listed. In order
to automate the document, I am attempting to protect the document from
changes, except via a custom toolbar.
The problem I have run into (probably the first of many) involves a
simple numbered (outline) list of the Actors listed in the Use cases.
When a new actor is added, I want to recreate the list and add the new
Actor (or add the new Actor to the end of the existing list).
I have inserted a bookmark at a section which will have a numbered
list, named "ActorNames", and move the cursor there by calling:
ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("ActorName").Select
However, I need to be able to select the entire numbered list (if it
exists, if not, create a new one), delete it, and recreate it when a
new actor is added to the list.

Change header StyleRef exec timing?
You can use StyleRef fields in a header to detect, say, the first and last
names on a page of regular text, but if you use the same header on a page
containing endnotes, you get only error field results. This is odd because
you can, for instance, use Find to search through endnote text. Why is it
that StyleRef in a header fails to do essentially the same thing? Is there a
way to force the interface to evaluate a StyleRef field in a header on a page
containing endnotes?

Radio Button ghost when using scroll bar or mouse wheel
I've created a MS Word form with approximately 40 radio buttons on it
in a table.
In testing, I've noticed that when you use the scroll bar or mouse
wheel to go to the second page or further, the radio buttons seem to
leave a ghost image of themselves on the second page.
Does anyone know what causes this and if it can be fixed?

Word stopping printer
I am using WORD 97. I have a routine which adds text to a document and then
prints out. The code batches the documents into two print runs.
After the first batch have been sent to the printer. A message box is then
displayed which confirms that the documents have been printed. For some
reason the message box stops the print routine until 'okay' ot 'cancel'
button pressed.
Is there any way programmatically that this can be prevented, and if so
would someone please supply me with a solution.

Am developing a VB script in Word 2003 to perform a few quality checks on
documents against a few rules. One of my rules is that "All tables and
figures must have a caption". How can I check this? Is there any association

Can't find Section Break (New Page) when followed by Table
Hi,
With Jezebel's kind assistance, I have found how to replace Section Breaks
with Page Breaks. (Search ^b replace ^m) Are those control codes listed
somewhere in Word Help?
But I find that a Section Break(New Page) followed immediately by a Table on
the next page is not found. Is there something unusual about such a section
break which would require me to search for a control other than ^b?

Merge/Combine Word files
I need help! I want to combine 3 word files in one big file and keep
the formatting. I tried with Copy/Paste, Paste Special, Insert File,
Insert Object but I have the following problems:
1. If I use copy and paste the content of second document that I add to
the first one is all made Bold and Centered
2. If I try Paste Special and select there Word Document then it keeps
the formatting but it is inserting only one page
Is there a solution for my problem, a fast one?

I suspect this isn't the optimal group to post this question, so if there's
a better place, please point me there...
I'm developing some training using Powerpoint and Word 2003. I'm supposed
to copy the slides in PPT and paste them into Word using a provided macro.
The macro includes:
Selection.PasteSpecial Link:=False, DataType:=wdPasteMetafilePicture, _
Placement:=wdInLine, DisplayAsIcon:=False
This works just fine, except one thing. The resulting metafile graphic is
always a fixed width (605 pixels, not sure where that came from), which is
OK. But the paste-as-WMF insists on CENTERING the graphic in the resulting
WMF.
This is a pain because it means my nicely-formatted slides end up all over
the page. I want them all to be left-justified the way they are in PPT, so
they line up with the other objects in Word.
Is it possible to control the PasteSpecial operation so it doesn't center
the WMF?

I want to put a load of addresses in a shared template folder and set up a
macro which calls up a user form so that the secretaries can type in the
relevant name and then it can paste in the address into a form or letter.

Make DocVariable field Bold
I have a DocVariable field in a Word template header {DOCVARIABLE MeetingType
\*MERGEFORMAT} that I would like bolded upon being updated. I've tried
selecting the field in my template and making it bold, but all new documents
created from the template show the field as non-bold.

protection switched off when a users tabs to a formfield (in my example
Description) so the user can change the style and the font of this Formfield.
After that, when he goes to the next formfield the protection should be
switched on again.
I have tried it with 2 macro's (and in the formfield switched the option Run
Marco on Entry and Exit)
Macro 1= ActiveDocument.Unprotect Password:="password"
This works fine!
Marco 2 (on Exit)
ActiveDocument.Protect Type:=wdAllowOnlyFormFields, NoReset:=True_
Password = "password"
The second macro doesn't work anymore. So the protection stays off when the
user leaves this Formfield. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi,
We have some users who use a SectionBreakNextPage when I want them to use a
PageBreak. Is there some way I can check whether there are these Section
Breaks in a document and replace them with Page Breaks?

Message box prompt for file name
I need to create a Word macro that will save a document to the same place on
the network but pause for the user to name the file. Once the name is entered
then save the file, always in the same place, just a different name.
I'm an Access guy who knows a little VBA. I am building an Access app but i
need Word for this one small function.
I just don't trust users to navagate to the right place on the network once
they hit file, saveas - and Access looks to this one place for hyperlinks to
documents so if they are not there the Access user gets an error message.

I like to create a macro that can copy asd file to a server location. I like
this macro to run when word is open. I'm thinking with Normal.dot. Does any

Default File Open Location
Hi all.
Is there any way to have a macro run automatically every time the File
Open Dialog is opened?
The default behaviour of Word is to use the default folder set in
Tools|Options|File Locations|Documents until you open a document in
another folder. The next time you go to open a document, it opens to the
last folder you were in.
I would like it to always open to the smae folder no matter what folder
you were in last and I thought I could accomplish this with a macro that
ran when the File Open Dialog was used.
Anybody know if this is possible or maybe have a different idea for
accomplishing the same thing?

cross-references headings
When I attempt to do a cross-reference, I notice that all of my specified
headings are not there. I go to the article where it says "troubleshoot
cross-references" and indeed, they mention a solution of classifying the
heading as a style. But, there isn't any other way to classify a heading
outside of setting it as a sytyle within the "styles and formats" toolbar.
Why aren't all of my headings being shown when my headings have been
