I can create macros which are automatically stored in the templates directory
but I can't view this directory from Windows Explorer. Does anyone know why?

The folder C:\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\Application Data\ is set up
as a hidden folder. If you go into the Options settings of Windows Explorer,
you can get it to display hidden folders.

Macros are not stored as files but rather in the templates, the normal.dot
template by default.
