Hi,

MS-Word seems to be opening a word document as read-only
even though the document itself is not read-only. It does
this randomly, not all the time. This is annoying as when
it does open the document as read-only, after making the
changes to the document, the document would then have to
be saved under a different name.

Can someone please shed some light to this problem.
My e-mail address is sam@kolstone.com

Cheers,
Sam

Hi, Sam,

See if http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/LockedFiles.htm has the
answer.
