6. In Windows Explorer, locate the C:\923347 folder, and then double-click
Mssp3ge.msp.
7. Follow the steps to install the update.
FWIW, the text could be interpreted to mean you must already have the German
proofing tools installed (either as part of the Office XP Proofing tools or
the MUI), and that this hotfix only updates existing tools. It's not very
clear on this point. And that may be why "Check for updates" isn't turning it
up for you.
