    - Attached Template Issue I have a master template which contains quite a bit of VBA code. We send this master template to department adminstrators who tweak and create sub templates from the master. These sub templates are then distributed to the staff who create their end documents. In the save event I programmatically detach the "attached template" and re-attach the master template so at any stage of the process the template and/or end docuement uses the VBA code from the master. This has worked great (about two years) untill recently. Although, the master is still attached to the end document (which I have verfied by stepping through the code) it can not seem to find it. After some research, I found MSDN article 823372 which describes mt issue perfectly. This article provides a work around and a hotfix (hotfix not avaible to general public until full regression testing has been completed but can get it by calling microsoft) but neither one works as well as I hoped. After days of testing I have come to beleive that an Office Security patch is the culprit (KB887979). My question is: Has anyone else had this issue? And does anyone know if this Office Patch is in fact the culprit. I would perfer to leave it out of any new ghost images we send to the field if it is infact the problem.     - How do I make only periods on my screen appear bigger? For ease of reading on my screen, I want only the periods a lot larger and bolder, i.e., Lucinda Console, etc. We use Times New Roman 12 at work, and the periods colons are so faint I can barely see them. I do not want to enlarge everything. I'm trying to find an autocorrect option to do this. I created a macro to do after the fact, but I'm not thrilled with this option.     - Searching multiple, though similar documents, for specific text. I am attempting to create an Access database that will populate table fields based on the search results of current and potential employee resumes. For example, capturing X # of characters either side of words like "Master's Degree", or "Military." I already have a similar question out to the Access group, but started thinking that this would probably need to be a two step process, starting with seaching a Word or RTF document, somehow saving the results as *.txt and then importing that into Access.     - HELP - Why is my whole menu disabled???? I am programmatically opening a mailmerge document and bringing it up in PREVIEW mode. When I look at the document, I would like to close the document but leave WORD open. But the entire menu seems to be disabled as well as the box to just close the current document. The only thing that is enabled is the upper right corner box to close WORD altogether. Is there a command that I need in order to have the menu enabled? Thanks.     - Range of a field [Word 2000 on Windows XP] This is about creating page number prefixes of the form C.9, where C is the SEQ nubmer of the chapter. I can do it all manually through the UI, but I'm trying to do it programatically. I can iterate through the fields collection in each header and footer and find any PAGE fields, BUT I can't figure out how to establish a range object that lets me insert stuff just before this field. objRange = objField.Result just doesn't work reliably -- things get inserted in the middle of the field code, when they get inserted at all.     - macros disabled in protected form I have created a word-2002 form that captures student name, operating system, email address, etc. I want to create a macro that saves the completed form as 'form data' only and saves the file as a normal word document. I will then have the student email both files back to me. I have created a macro using 'recorder' to change tools/option/save to save the file as form data only. To create the macro, I had to disable form protection. When I re-enable form protection, I can not run the macro. How do I avoid this conflict?     - global variables - shared subroutines I have the following problem, I have two modules, that means two macros, in my application and there are some subroutines which are common and I was trying to have them in only one module and to call them by module1.sub_name. These subs change the value of a global variable which has purposely the same name in both modules but I noticed that when I call them by that way the value of the global variables do not change.     - How to create a shortcut on my desktop to print a Word document? I would like to create a link on my Mom's desktop that she can click to print her schedule. I'd like to be able to set the path and filename, and all she has to do is click the link and put in how many copies she wants of the Word document, and it will automatically open up word (if needed) and print the document. When other users select this template the merge field populates on the first page only, on any other pages it only brings up the merge field, not the populated field like the first page.     - Paste Special Macro -- how to place cursor at end of paste? In my paste special macro, I wish that the cursor would appear at the end of the paste rather than at the beginning. If no other instances of Access are open I have no problem. But I have no guarantee to point to the rigth one if the user has already opened one. (The static Web pages are then compiled into one metafile.) After I merge the Web page data into Word, I have one, long document that is separated by 850 section marks. I have VBA code that allows me to cut a selection from the one, long document and to paste the selection into individual .htm files. I have not figured out, however, how to define the 850 separate selections in the one, long document. I also need help returning to the one, long document and moving the the next section in it. Specifically, I need VBA code to do the following things: 1. To use the current insertion point as the beginning of the selection or range. 2. To extend the selection or range so that it includes everything up to the next occurrence of the text string "</html>". 3. To call the cut-and-paste VBA sub that I already have.     - Letter printing I work with an application that is used by several (50) users. As part of their work they print letters to send to clients. A parameter is passed to request the number of copies of each letter to print on the network printer. The problem is 90% of the time the correct number of letters is printed, but 10% of the time some letters would not print or the number would be incorrect. I put a log file to check what is being sent to the printer and the parameters are always correct, but I ,sometimes get the wrong number of copies. Any help will be appreciated. I want to create a macro to do them all automatically but, when I record a macro to do so, it does not change the filtering of the source data and merely produces identical output when I run it, even though doing it manually produces 4 different documents.     - How can I print a letter for each record in my mailmerge table? I am trying to rewrite some code from word.basic to use word.application b/c some of it is not working in XP. I want to add the filename of a special format in the footer of a word doc, automatically everytime I save the doc. This is what I want in detail: 1. ich mÃ¶chte aus Word die Datei mit einem Makro automatisch als pdf-drucken.
Normaler Drucker funktioniert einwandfrei. Gebe ich Adobe als Drucker ein
funkrtioniert es bis zu dem Punkt, dass Word Dateinamen und Speicherort des
pdf-Dokuments wissen mÃ¶chte. Wie kann ich diese MenÃ¼abfrage ebenfalls in das
Makro einbinden, so dass ich dieses nicht jedesmal noch manuell machen muss?

Hi Newsgroup,

I would like to save a Word file as pdf-file using a macro. My macro works
perfect till I have to confirm the filename and path (2 windows). I do this
manually. But I would like my macro to do these confirmations for me
suppressing the two windows.
