Creating Link in table of contents to specific pages???

I have a word document that is over 1000 pages and it has a table of
contents. My client wants to be able to click on a specific line in the
table of contents and it will take the user to that specific page. Is this
possible? If so, I would be greatful for some help!

Yes, you need to add the \h to your TOC field.

ALT+F9 to toggle your field codes. Click into your TOC field and at the end
of it add \h and press F9 to update. Then you can ALT+F9 to display your
TOC.

To use the Hyperlink, you will hold down the CTRL key while clicking on the
particular line in the TOC. Word will then jump to the appropriate item in
the body of your document.

Is there any way that you can make it to just click the line and it will
take you there?

This is a user setting:

Tools > Options... > Edit tab > uncheck "Use CTRL + Click to follow
hypelink"

If I uncheck that, will it be saved in the document and users of the document
won't have to control click or will they have to do the same?

As my first statement in my previous reply states:

"This is a user setting."

I guess I could have added:

"and not a document setting."

So each user will have to change that setting, if abso;utely necessary.
But, if they are already using it, it will not bother them to do CTRL-Click
because they will be used to it.
If they have never used it, then you could tell them how to change it but
also tell them that the default behaviour is to do CTRL-Click, to avoid
accidental clicks.
