Is there a way in Word 2003 to reset the "used font" list that appears at
the top of the font queue and is separated by a double line from the
alphabetical list of fonts????

Thanks

No easy way to reset it, but you can turn it off and back on. See "WD2000:
How to Turn off the Font Most Recently Used (MRU) List" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=199785. There is no corresponding article
for Word 2003, but if you just find the appropriate Registry key (11.0
instead of 9.0), this article will work.

Hi Stephen,

You can 'reset' it by toggling it off then back on.

One method is to use the Word Support Template's Registry
Option Macro (basically the same process in Office 2003)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;289506&FR=1

Manually you can mirror that 'click here' method by
modifying the registry (Start=>Run=>Regedit go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options
Right click on that key, choose Add New Key, name the key
NoFontMRUList and set the value to 1 to clear the list (off)
and then 0 to turn it on

(need to restart Word after each change).
