    - microsoft wirless keyboard not functioning right hi, i use a coworker's computer once in a while, and have a problem where her keyboard stops typing or buttons stop working on the keyboard when im typing and i remove the batteries and replace them and it usually fixes the problem. She has a regular mouse, but it has the red light underneath it,... but its not wirless. She said she never has problems with it when she uses it. I am wondering if i hit a combination of keys and it locked up the keyboard or something. however, when i use it at her desk it works and then doesnt, i take out the batteries and replace them and it works fine. well today i cant get the computer logged in because the keyboard isnt working.     - How to replicate results / create new field names Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to create new field names? Currently I'm writing a test report document. This document contains around 50 tests and each test may be around half a page long. At the end of each test I write the result which will be Pass, Fail, Unknown or something like that. The plan is to have a table either at the begining or end of my document containing all these results. I would like however for the table entries to be field codes so that it would automatically contain the result written at the end of each test. I would prefer not to have the write the result in twice - once after the test and secondly in my table of results. I was looking around my WORD 2002 SP3 and all the field names seem to be predefined. I went Insert -> Field. Maybe there is another way so that I only need to write my result in one place and this is updated in my summary table.     - Forms question I'm not new to Word, but I am new to creating forms (sorta). I'm using MS Word 2003. I'm trying to create a template for a 200+ page document that will be used for all of our customers. I want to have a field called "Customer Name" and when I type it in one time, it fills in everywhere in the document. I have tried naming all of the field Bookmarks CustomerName, but that didn't seem to work. I have several fields where I am going to want to link the data from that field throughout thd document, not just the Customer name one. Do I need to link this to an Access database or some other kind of database? Could I create the customer info in an Excel spreadsheet and have it populate the fields?     - Macro for Letter Settings Help I am trying to create a Macro in Word 2003. The document is supposed to have a different margin and paper tray on the first page. None of these are to my taste, probably by reason of the constraints on their creators, although Monaco is passable. So I downloaded a few others to try them out and came across two problems: - Microsoft Word only displays TrueType fonts. There are others (bitmap fonts .fon) in the \Windows\Fonts folder, including Courier, but they are not shown in the document font list. - It would be useful to change the name of the font to show that it is fixed width, renaming the file has no effect.     - Find & Replace I have both Word 2000 and Word 2002. My question concerns how to do a search and replace. In certain kinds of documents I use an arrow from Insert | Symbols (in fact, I use it often enough that I have it assigned to a key combo). What happens is that if I copy a block of text from a document that contains the arrows, and I then paste special, the arrows are all inserted as a registered trademark symbol (®). The trademark symbol inserts ok in the Find What box, but the arrow doesn't paste into the Replace With box, and so a conventional Find and Replace apparently isn't an option. I'd like to convert the list to a table with the English word in one column and the corresponding Japanese word in an adjacent column.     - Help with paragraph formatting Hi Firstly, apologies if this in the wrong group. I am using Word 2003 and consider myself to be quite competent as I have been using Office since version 4.2. I am creating a document that is primarily to be viewed via a PC, and although it prints correctly the formatting can do strange things on screen e.g. 1) I have as a default 6pt before each paragraph, but in certain areas it appears as though this is applied to each line within the paragraph. I can find no mention of this symbol in the help file (although I may be looking in the wrong place) 2) Although the affected pages print correctly, the last few lines can disappear! If I move the cursor down (via the arrow keys) it reappears? Hello,
I was working in a large document and had inserted a dozen or so bookmarks.
I then changed the margins and justified all the text, in preparation for
sending it out for a publication's specs. When I tried to find the bookmarks
after the re-structuring of the document, they were ALL gone. Why did this
happen, and how can I prevent it from happening in the future? Thanks,

Bookmarks can easily be deleted, but changing the margins and justfying the
text alone would not have caused them to be deleted.
