    - Documents Jumping Back to the Beginning.... Oh, Mighty MVPs.... In the process of editing papers, it is common for me to have more than one version of the paper open (different filenames, obviously) to allow me to flip back and forth between the versions, comparing as I go. Often, when flipping to one from the other, Word jumps to the beginning of the document. I have no idea why this happens, or if it is a Word-driven (as opposed to Windows-driven) event. It's certainly not the worst thing that can happen, but scrolling down and then finding where you left off is a bit of a PITA. I've tried the Shift+F5 thingy, but I'm usually only editing one of the documents, the other is merely there to see comments, etc., so it has no effect. Any ideas? I hope I'm not hallucinating.     - Languages Office Word 2007 XP Pro SP2 The language (installed) is in English. The language for spell checking is in French. Dictionary language is set to English. Language Settings (from Office tools) is set to English. Primary editing language is set to English. Yet, under spell check options the only language is French and under the proofing options I have just "French modes" for spelling. This impacts my spell check in OE which is bad, very bad... I spell quite poorly I feel and so I need to have spell checking in a language that I actually speak and type in. Any ideas? I don't have OE in Vista so that's not something I can check.     - Question On Creating A Table ? Hello, Have a document with many lines of text in it. Each line starts with a number, and then some text. I would like to copy all of this into another WORD document, but into a Table (having 2 columns) in that document. The numbers would go in one column, and then the text in the other column. I would then be able, I believe, to copy each column individually such that I can then Paste it into a spreadsheet.     - EMBED Picture in Word 2003 I am having a problem with the version of Word 2003 on my home computer. I am doing a class exercise which requires me to add a chart to a Word document. I do this by going to the Insert -> Picture -> Chart. It then brings up a sample chart which I can either edit or use as is. It is supposed to be brought into the document when I click in the document outside of the chart. This process works fine on the computer I have at the lab at school. However, on my own computer at home all I get is a one line message about an embeddded chart when I try to click outside the chart to bring it into the document. I saw something in the Knowledge Base that I could fix that by highlighting the embed message and hitting Cntl-Shift-F9 but that doesn't work. Is there some setting I have wrong perhaps?     - TOC: page number to show section ID also? I have separate sections, A, B, C and so forth. These are created using Section Break - Next Page. I title the sections using a Header style. When I insert a page number in the footer, I will add in the section identifier so the page number looks like A-1, etc. The A- is in front of the page number field. For some things, I like to use an extension that allows me to sort by date. Since on several occasions (mainly during travel) people have been planted in close proximity and rehearsed in what they were to say, it follows that someone must have done the planning for that, and again a single source is indicated. b) So why couldn't it be amateurs? Why couldn't it be a private organisation, for example a private detective agency paid to manage the campaign and undertake the technical aspects? Some detective agencies are unscrupulous as has been proved on the occasions in the past when they've been exposed or caught; they too can have access to the bugging technology deployed; and there are reported cases of MI5 paying private eyes to do their dirty work (against peace campaigners and similar enemies of the state) on the understanding that if they were caught then they could deny all knowledge. Why couldn't that be the case? The main factor pointing to direct security service involvement (as opposed to amateurs or MI5 proxies) is the breadth of their access to the media in particular, and the fact that the television companies are so involved in the campaign. The BBC would not directly invade someone's home themselves, since it would not be within their remit to allocate personnel or financial resources to do so. An organisation of their stature would not take part in a campaign set up by private sources. The only people they would take material from would be the security services, presumably on the assumption that if the cat ever flew out of the bag yowling it would be MI5 who would take the consequences. State sponsorship for these acts of psychological terrorism is also indicated by duration; support for over six years for a team of three or four people would be beyond the means and will of most private sources. The viciousness of the slanders and personal denigration also points to MI5; they traditionally "protect" the British state from politicians of the wrong hue by character assassination, and in this case are using their tried and tested methods to murder with words an enemy they have invented for themselves. And there are precedents. Diana and Hewitt were alleged to have been filmed "at it" by an Army intelligence team which had operated in Northern Ireland, these allegations were made by someone called Jones who had been on the team. His statements were denied by the defence establishment who tried to character-assassinate by describing him as the "Jones twins". Funny how if you tell the truth, then you must be ill, isn't it? Thought only communists behaved like that? I'm not familiar enough with Word to know what is going on. The TOC appears in Print Preview, and when I copy/paste it is pasted as it should be.     - Find What Text jumps around I'm searching for underlined text and replacing with the same text but with a code at the beginning and end. So, for example, if I find the underlined word "Bulletin", I want to replace it with "<U>Bulletin<U*>". I search for Format: Underline and Replace with <U>^&<U*>. This has worked great for me for years, but today I ran into a file in which it doesn't quite work. Word has no problem finding the underlined words, but when it replaces, it moves the Find What Text into other places, sometimes before the code, sometimes in the middle of the code, so I might end up with something like "<UBulletin><U*>". If by symbols you mean the field delimiters { }, prefix the Find string with
^d
