Using MS Word 2000 and in one of my letters I have a dotted line (or can
make several appear as I move text).
I can see it in normal print and web layout views. Also in Print Preview.
I can 'select' it and move it a limited distance up and down the text, it
goes as wide as the text (between margins). But what I can't seem to do is
remove the dash thing.
What is it? and how can I delete it?
TIA. Peter S.

I think you may be looking at Formatting Tab.

To do this -
Click on line(s)
Click on <Format><Tabs>
Highlight the tab (if you have more than one) that shows a leader of
(type 2)
Click on <1><OK> or
Click on <Clear all>

If this doesn't work come back.

It's a paragraph border created by the AutoFormat As You Type feature.

Thank you Bill, Suzanne and Jay.
Your information has solved my problem and I am grateful. While I am not
into 'MS Bashing' It looks like another example of software design that
could have been handled better.
Cheers from 'Down Under'.
