    - saving word 2007 files My office just installed some new pc's running Vista w/sp1 and office 2007 into a Windows Server 2003 domain. Users creating documents in Word 2007 are unable to save documents to our file server ( in word 2003 format) and receive a message that "\\<server name>\<folder name>\file name cannot be found. Check your spelling, or try a different path." The same users can readily save documents using Windows XP Pro SP3 machines with Word 2003 to the same locations.     - Scrap object deleting Hi, she who must be obeyed, accidentally cut/pasted content of a word doc page into a file.     - vista rescueddoc corrupted with bunch of ??? I heed help. It's been a week in trying to save this document. I was working off a flashdrive and went to save the work. A message appeared saying something about having to shut the program and it would save my document. The original document disappered fron the flashdrive. Only an empty shortcut key remained and the rescued document that opened in wordpad. Out of the original document only part of the written text survived the rest were question marks. I figure it has something to do with the fact that I had written some of the text using word for apple 2004. Maybe... I've tried all the basic stuff, saving as RTF and converting back to word, savind as web, recover text from any file, etc. All I've gotten is different symbols instead of the question marks. Any help would be appreciated. I have 10 hours worth of work into that document and it seems crazy ther eis nothing to help me recover it.     - Abnormal program termination A couple of weeks ago, I started encountering a problem with my WORD 2002 program.     - Envelopes: How to add "PERSONAL" under the Delaivery Address I like to add sometimes, I would say quite often, the word "P E R S O N A L" near the bottom of an envelope under the Delivery address, with BOLD letter, spacing, etc. See all the steps that it requires once that I am in the Envelopes and Labels dialog: 1. CAPS LOCKS 2. Writing of the Word 3. Go to the Fonts dialog to then format to a bold type, underline, etc. Then I print it. Then I write another letter and I might still have to CAP Lock again, go to Fonts, etc, if I want to write in the next envelope again the same thing. I might have copied the P E R S O N A L word from the previous envelope, but if I lost it during the second letter writing (I.e., if I copied and pasted other things while writing the letter, a very likely occurrence), then I will have to retype again in the next envelope the word P E R S O N A L again and begin the whole process again. When I do that in many envelopes, the whole thing becomes too much tedious. My question: Has the Word Program not provide an easier way to write these optional words in the envelope without having to go thru all these steps every time? (Maybe an envepe style #1 that do not have the word P E R S O N A L, and evelope style #2 that has the word, etc, that you can recall at will), or any other method? Thanks in advance.     - hyperlink Hi, I put some hyperlinks in my Word documents. BUt when I look at them, instead of usual underlined words I see something like {ref ...}. How I can see the ordinary words? For example, I put a bookmark in the end of my document and in the begining of document, I insert a hyperlink to it. This hyperlink is over a word like "end". When I point the cursor over "end" and click, I go directly to the end of document. But in my final document, instead of an underlined and with different color "end", I see {ref ...}.     - Can't Read Word 2003 docs backed up Vista now using Office 2007 SP1 Before I had Office 2007, I was using Vista (actually since it's Beta began, and I backed up what I think were my Word 2003 documents to DVD. I'm not sure if I can determine what version of Word was used but they should have been Word 2003 before any Betas of 2007 were available. I'm using Vista SP1 and Office 2007 SP1 on this box currently and both have every available update to date. Now when I go to open up, the backed up docs they show up in gibberish. I searched the MSKBs, Word Help on the MSFT sites, etc. and I downloaded the latest version of the MSFT Office Word Viewer. It doesn't help. I downloaded the "Compatibility Pack" and it did nothing.     - Graphics only visible in Full Screen Reading mode I created a simple graphic in Visio 2003, which I want to insert in a Word document. I am using Word 2007, but the document needs to be saved in compatibility mode. I have tried inserting the image in various ways and formats.     - Normal template Recently, my computer gave out, and I replaced it with a new one running Vista home version. I also had to update my office programs to 2007. I can find my old normal template, but I am unable to replace the default normal template that word is using. I have established a location for templates and entered my old normal template there, but no joy.     - Deleting a document I have Windows Vista on my system. When I go to Start then type the name of the document I'm looking for in The Start Search field, the document shows up above the search field. I then right click it and select delete. I'm then asked if I want it to go to the recycle bin. I indicate yes but when i go back and search for it later it comes up again.     - Weird Auto-Zoom? I have 2007. When I'm zoomed in to "Page Width" (about 246%) and start typing in a table, and I hit space, the page zooms to "Whole Page." I've tried many things, including searching help, predictably to no avail. If I click the "Page Width" button it goes back, but reverts to "Whole Page" at the next space.     - Problem creating a Christmas Card I'm experimenting in creating a Card. Card size is 6 7/8 X 10 Folded down across the middle becoming a 6 7/8 X 5 document. I'm trying to create the inside greeting so it will be on the BOTTOM half of the card when a person opens it.. I set up the document size as 6 7/8 X 10 and then keyed in the greeting in the 5" to 10" area (bottom half.) Word always prints the greeting in the TOP HALF rather than the BOTTOM HALF!     - Pleading Paper - Enveloopes I use 1-28 ruled and numbered pleading paper (based on the legal pleading template - Word 2007). My "proof of service" document includes mailing addresses, single spaced in the document which is typed on the pleading paper. However, when I block the mailing address and click the envelope icon to create an envelope, the address appears double-spaced! I have a document that includes a mailing list of 20 attorneys. Am I going to have to retype all of their names and addresses on a separate document in order to print out single spaced envelopes ?     - Word Template problems I have a problem re-opening a saved page of labels in Word 2007 and displaying the text I have inserted AND the template outline. I want to re-label my VHS collection and have bought a pack of Avery media labels for the purpose. In Word I've chosen 'Mailings' then 'Labels' then 'Options'. I've selected the Avery product, clicked OK' and 'New document'. Up comes a page with a row of video spine labels visibly displayed. I can enter text and tab down to the next 'label' with no problems. So far so good! The problem arises when I save the page as a template and assign a name, e.g. "VHS labels". I can find that document in the location where it's been saved but when I subsequently try to re-open it to continue entering more text, (a) the outlines of the labels have disappeared from the page and (b) the page does not appear named as "VHS labels" but as "New Microsoft Word Document (3,4,5 or whatever). The text previously entered is still there and visible but I want to see the outlines of the labels as they appeared when the page was first opened and surely if "VHS labels" is selected to be re-opened it should appear as the title of the document/template page? Can anyone help me with getting the outlines of the labels displayed again and explain why a Word Document and not a Word Template is opening?     - printing *stuff* on an envelope? Hello, I am using Word 2003 on Windows Vista. I am trying to type stuff on the face of a standard size 10 envelope, or any envelope for that matter. I want to type in the months of the year and a check box in front of each month for gas receipts. When I go to labels and envelopes that only lets me print addresses and return address. I have tried setting the margins on a new page the same as the envelope size but when I type it out it is of course in portrait mode but my printer (HP LaserJet 3050) only accepts envelopes lengthwise. When I use landscape mode it just changes the paper but the text is still horizontal. If I do that and then select all text and try and go to text direction, it's grayed out. I don't know how to accomplish this. Just to be clear, I want to type the months of the year with a check box in front of each month and a heading "Gas receipts" at the top on the face of an envelope. Anyone here know how to do this? Perhaps your version of Office 2003 came without Access.
