Could anyone tell me how I can delete automatic (soft) page breaks from a
word document?

You can only get rid of automatic page breaks by formatting the paper size
to be bigger, so your question doesn't make sense as asked. Can you try to
reword it? Perhaps it's me?

Do you want to convert the soft page breaks to hard page breaks?
If so, see
http://www.mv.com/ipusers/standards/Word%20VB%20DLL/Word%20VB%20DLL.html.

Otherwise, all you can do is increase the page size top shift the location
of the soft page breaks.
