Hi,

I have an outline that is my table of contents:

1.0 Start
1.1 More Description
1.2 Other Stuff

What I want is to have

1.0 Start ............................. 1
1.1 More Description ...... 2
1.2 Other Stuff ............... 3

How do I fill the gap between my page number, which I want right -
aligned, and the text with dots, short of typing them? I'm using MS
Word 2003 Professional Edition.

Thanks, - Dave

Set your tabs as dotted.

If you insert a TOC field (through Insert | Reference | Index and Tables |
Table of Contents), this will be automatic. But you seem to be constructing
the TOC manually, so you will need to add a period leader to your right tab
stop. For more on tabs and also on this type of alignment, see
