    - Track Changes Hi I got a Word document with Track Changes enabled. I can see all the balloons at the right side of the documents - showing the different changes. When printing the document, not only the printout prints the balloons (which is fine), but the printout also prints additional pages showing the details of all the changes as shown in Main Document Changes and Comments (the section that you would see when you click on the Reviewing Pane shortcut). Is it possible for me to print without these additional pages (the Main Document Changes and Comments) while the balloons remain ?     - Can't open Microsoft word I have a problem opening MS word using MS Office 2000. My system(actually my wifes computer) P2 with 198 MB of Ram, 4.0GB hard drive running Win 98 SE MS Office 2000 has been on the system for a long time. Lately she says she cannot get MS Word to open when she clicks on the MS Word icon on the desktop. I check it out and she's right. The small screen appears that says MS Word 2000, Product licensed to ________, Product ID- - - - - - - -. The small screen stays there and I can only get it to go away by doing the CTRL, ALT, DEL routine and then clicking on "Winword", then "end task. I tried opening Word by going to Explorer>C:\>Program File>MS Office>Word. The same thing happens as described above. All other portions of MS Office (Excel, Front Page, Access, etc) open as normal, either using the desktop icon or going thru Explorer. I removed MSOffice 2000 and reinstalled.     - Don't Understand I have a word 2003 document that was generated from a PDF document. The document includes some wide tables and I want to change the paper from letter to legal and use landscape layout. When I try to apply the change from letter to legal I get an error pop-up: "Increasing left margin causes first column to become too narrow in some sections having unevenly spaced columns" I don't understand this.     - Drivel When I bought my last computer, (the one before this one,) it came with Lotus Word Pro '97. I found this to be a very robust program and have been using it all this time. Recently, however, I decided that it was time to get something new. I'd heard a lot about Microsoft Word 2003, (you can't help hearing about it everywhere,) and I bought a copy. I wish I hadn't. The first thing I did, when I loaded the program, was to look at the reference books. I found an english thesaurus, that was good. And then there were about another six thesaurusi in different languages, and that was it. There were no marvelous reference books, which was the subject of much of the sell on the back of the box. Looking further, I found that there was no english dictionary. I found a bilingual dictionary which had french text interspersed with english. In order to use this dictionary, I had to constantly sift out french phrases in order to concentrate on the english text. I found this psychologically irritating in the extreme. Next I went to the 'go to' section in the 'edit' menu. A window popped up and asked me to enter a page number. Now, this is no good if your document changes size constantly, such as when writing a book or long report. Why couldn't I just go to the last page? My old Lotus software can do it. I rang a friend and he told me that there is a control key which enables you to go to the end of a document. I thought to myself, I don't want to have to remember a lot of control codes in order to use this software, it should all be in the menu. Then I thought, oh well, I'd better try the macro facility. There I found that there was a dearth of features compared to my old software. You couldn't even set a startup macro. I then had a look at the icons. There must have been all of thirty of them. In Lotus you get a few hundred. I then got so fed up that I uninstalled Word 2003 and took it back to PC World. They wouldn't accept it back. As I walked from the store I thought to myself. What to do with it? Should I try to sell it on Ebay? No, I thought, too much time, energy and hassle. Should I give the program to somebody I knew. I could think of no-one. I thought for a moment and then chucked it in the nearest bin! As I walked on, I knew that that meant that I was left with my old software to use. But I felt light hearted and happy. I was shut of something I just didn't want. It was worth paying two hundred pounds just to shove that pile of over hyped, over priced, software drivel in the bin! My last words, on this forum, are - beware. You probably don't know what a shabby service you have received from Microsoft unless you have something to compare it with. Also beware of Microsoft moles who come on after me only to sing the praises of Microsoft Word. I won't be returning to this forum. I only came here, briefly, in order to write this entry.     - word freeze when I use page setup Whenever I go to print, I click on page setup. Word freeze then crashes. I tried everything. Wipe computer clean, re-installed nothing seems to work.     - Calculations in tables I have followed Dave Rado's idea of separating tables which I find very useful. However, I am having a problem with the syntax on my final calculation and would appreciate any help. I am designing an 'invoice' type of table with two columns: Table1 has a list of all the items (Column A) and their prices (Column B).     - Printing an Attachment containing {FORMTEXT} I have a problem when printing an attachment received with an AOL e-mail. My PC uses WORD 2000 and Windows Me. The attachment contains the statement "This work will be performed at a fixed price of $123,456.00." Pressing ALT+F9 toggles that sentence between "This work will be performed at a fixed price of $123,456.00." and the sentence "This work will be performed at a fixed price of {FORMTEXT}. However, when the attachment is printed, the printed text reads "This work will be performed at a fixed price of $0.00." Several of my associates received the same e-mail and were able to print the attachment without a problem, i.e., with the price of $123,456.00. In case it matters, the following settings were observed when the attachment was first loaded: (1) Tools, Protect Document, in the Protect Document dialog box, " Tracked changes" was checked and "Comments" and "Forms" were not checked.     - Weird line numbering Using Word 2003. We use line numbering extensively, and most of the time it works as advertised. However, sometimes when pasting a bulleted list into a table cell, the line numbers acquire bullets as well! Similarly with pasting numbered lists into a table cell -- the line numbers change from 1, 2, 3 to 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. Closing Word and re-opening it does not fix the problem. The only workaround I have found is to shutdown the machine and reboot it. Then the line numbering is restored to normal. I have a document with pictures and on top of the pictures there are arrows
and text boxes. I would like to copy some of the pictures to other location
altogether with their arrows and text boxes on top of them. How do I copy
one picture with its arrows and textboxes all at once not separate one by
one. Is it possible. As for now, I copy the picture and the arrows and text
boxes stay in place so I have to copy them one by one.

Use the Select Objects tool on the Drawing toolbar to draw a rectangle
around the entire group of objects to select them, then Copy.
