I have information inDocument Microsoft Word and want to make additions to
it. I am locked out and cannot do this. how do I open the lock?

In what way are you locked out?

- Does the document request a password in order to open it? In that case,
the only solution is to get the password from whoever created it.

- Is the document protected for forms? If so, use Tools > Unprotect
Document. This may request a password; in this case the solution is to open
a new blank document and use Insert > File to place an unprotected copy of
the form in it.

- Is your copy of Word a trial version that has expired, or a retail version
that has never been activated? Try the Help > Activate command to see what
happens.

- Something else?
