We have been using Word 97 for a couple of years. We have
just installed Word 2003 in 2 machines while most of us
still using Word 97.

We would like to know in order to make our documents
compatibitble. What settings should we set up in Word
2003 ?

Under Tools --> Save, Should we select "Disable features
introduced after Word 97" ?

Under Tools --> Compatibility, Should we
select "Recommended options for Windows 97" ?

OR we don't need to do anything and they (Word 2003 and
Word 97 documents) are compatible ?

Thanks

To be cautious, you should disable features after 97. A lot of streamlining
has happened since 97, and if the documents go back and forth a lot, you may
encounter problems with all 2003 features enabled.
