It has various meanings, the most obvious is making a list comprising
columns using set tabs to separate the columns evenly. It may also mean a
form in which you use the TAB key to move from input field to the next input
field. It may just mean text that has been tabbed into a particular
alignment such as centre tabbed, decimal tabbed or right-align tabbed
(flushed right).

This particular phrase doesn't have any specific meaning in Word AFAIK. It
may refer to text separated by tab characters; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/SettingTabs.htm.
