    - page numbering in footers I'm running Word 2003 SP2. I use page setup to check that page one of my document gets a different footer than the other sections. I insert the traditional page number into a footer (using numbering, not a text box) and want a "1" to print on page two and so one. I use the format numbering button on the footer bar, select "start with 1" and click ok. The document snaps to the footer on page one (blank). When I scroll back to page 2, the numbering remains unchanged at "2". Nothing I try can make that number into a 1. I can increase the number, though. I am unable to alter the default template - normal.dotm - I want to have the default settings for word to be A4 page size and Times new Roman font. It is in csv. which the tech guy told was a good general format to be compatible with various office applications. I am trying to get it (an edited version) into Merge Mail.     - In 2007, no good way to paste paragraphs In Word 2000, I used to be able to paste a paragraph pretty much anywhere (except inside a table) and have it retain its formatting so long as I captured the paragraph mark when I did the cut/copy. In Word 2007, this is another in the long list of features that have been crippled. It has something to do with lists, but I thin there are problems in other areas as well. It is no longer possible to copy a normal paragraph in the middle of a list or just before a heading if that heading has list numbering. Suppose I have a simple list: * item 1 * item 2 * item 3 I cannot paste a paragraph in between item 1 and 2 with a simple Ctrl-V. There are three popssible places for the insertion point and none of them work. 1. In Word 2000, I could place the insertion point at the start of the paragraph that I wanted insert the text before. In 2007, this causes the new test to become a new item in the list. 2. If I move the inswrtion point back one step so that all of the list dingbats are highlighted (a position that did not exist in 2000), idiotic things happen. The new text becomes a list item and the following paragraph assumes the formatting of the inserted text and is no longer a list item. Whoever thought that one up should be sentenced to 5-10 at hard labor or 6 months on the tech support line. 3. If I place the insertion point at the end of the previous paragraph (just before the paragraph mark), then the new text is concatenated to that paragraph, which assumes the formatting of the inserted text and drops out of the list, and a new emply list item is added. I think this is what happened in 2000 and makes sense. Bottom line, you can't get there from here. Kudos to the Word developers.     - Footers in Word 2007 Hello, I'm working in a lengthy manual, using mirror margins so that the document has 2" of border on the outside of each portrait page. The doc will be printed front and back. My problem is that I am unsure how to format the footers. Currently, I am using first page, odd and even footers. Talk about a complicated doc! Additionally, the Appendix has landscape documents as well. The issues I am having are these: 1. The front matter is paginated with Roman numerals. They are not appearing sequentially--why? 2. The chapters each have an intro page (odd-numbered) and a beginning page (also odd-numbered). Word is not numbering any of these sections. I am having to go in and manually number. How do I force it to number? 3. Each footer must contain a graphic jpeg of the company's logo. Wow. Word footers sure don't like that arrangement with copyright text I have. Word 2007 and Outlook 2007. My default mail account in Outlook is IMAP. If I
send a document as an attachment via email from within Word 2007, it sends
via the default mail account, but puts the sent item into the Sent Items
Folder in Personal Files, NOT the Sent folder in the IMAP folder list.
Sending a new email from within Outlook puts the copy in the IMAP Sent Items
folder and not the Sent Items in Personal Folders.
Is there a setting somewhere to fix this?

No. It's a limitation of MAPI. A similar problem occurs when you create a
message from an application and save it. it will be saved in your Inbox.
