When I copy/paste or cut/paste a block of text from one place in a document
to another, the copied text is in a new font and a new size. Sometimes the
unmoved text just above the moved text changes in font and size. Then I
have to edit to return all text to the original font and size. I suspect
this might be a wordperfect feature that I somehow activated. How do I turn
that feature off? (Word 2000, Windows 98)

McGyver:

One of the keys to writing is editing. Only God gets it
right the first time.

You have to edit to return all text to the original font
and size.
