When I go to the top of the menu and click on Insert, then I find if I then try to click on from Attention Line to Closing or even Signature, I find I have no listing from none of them.     - How to delete a section break without affecting the header and footer and margin? Hello, I've inherited a document that has added a section break (new section starting on the next page kind of break) at the end of the document and then there is a blank page. I want to get rid of the blank page. However when I delete the last section break, the header, footer and the margin setting will all be gone. How can I get rid of the last page without losing all those sectional formatings? It seems that I need a macro that will capture all the formating before the deletion and then reapply the formating after the deletion.     - Word will not save if Outlook is in use I am using WORD and Outlook 2002. If I use Outlook with the option "Word to edit email messages" - then If I open WORD and try to save a document - Word just shuts down. I have in the footer placed the necessary fields and started the numbering at 1 for the section.     - Help with paragraph formatting Hi Firstly, apologies if this in the wrong group. I am using Word 2003 and consider myself to be quite competent as I have been using Office since version 4.2. I am creating a document that is primarily to be viewed via a PC, and although it prints correctly the formatting can do strange things on screen e.g. 1) I have as a default 6pt before each paragraph, but in certain areas it appears as though this is applied to each line within the paragraph. I have revealed the formatting and compared it to paragraphs which do not display this behaviour and they are identical...except for a small square 'bullet' before affected portions when revealing the paragraph. I can find no mention of this symbol in the help file (although I may be looking in the wrong place) 2) Although the affected pages print correctly, the last few lines can disappear! If I move the cursor down (via the arrow keys) it reappears? I do have inline screen dumps using wrap tightly, but I don't think this is the cause as non-affected paragraphs also wrap around the pictures Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated. That was my worry. The key was that they are *.exe files, so I've now downloaded them and saved them securely so they can be applied after a reload from my old CD at any future date. If I continue with the printing, the printout is forced to print in legal size paper instead of the letter size paper in Page Setup.     - Word 2000 support and updates Like many on here, I am using Word 2000 on W98SE, which I'm very happy with. I presume that on the same lines as the W98 policy, Microsoft will eventually withdraw any support for Word 2000. What I want to do is to get now the various updates for Word 2000 (which are of coures already applied to mine) and dowload and save them as files on eg memory stick. Then if in the future I ever need to replace/reformat my hard disk, and restore from my (old) Word 2000 CDs, I can then apply the updates. I just noticed that whereas my other images (all within a frame) have anchors (when selected) that look like 4 dots at each corner and the usual ones in the middle of the sides and tops, the troublesome one has small clear circles where the black dots are on the others.     - Document only opens partially Running Windows XP Home Windows 2002 Problem: I have a very important document that contains about 50 pages. It is a secured password document. It opens with no problem. Everything is fine until I scroll to the first half of page 44, then at that point the document hangs and I get the MS popup to "send" or "don't send" for recovery purposes. But the document problem remains. I opened the C drive backup copy, but the same thing happened. Yes, I do have a CD updated back up, but under the circumstances, I'm afraid that it might also have a problem. The document is critical. I'm just trying to be careful here. Any ideas? My next step is to "restore" to an earlier date. I don't know if my Word software is corrupt or if it is the document. As of yet I have discovered no other doc problems. What do you think? Actually, Document9 at the task bar. I had opened only 3 new documents
before working on the 4th document. Nothing else before that. This has
never happened before. Once I noticed the problem, I did notice that the
next document was labeled as Document10. Using Word 2002. What did I do
wrong? Where are the other 5 documents that didn't exist to start with?

Everytime you open Word, it creates a new document and counts it, so
even if you didn't save or work on them-you could be at 9.

To restart the count, just reboot your computer.
