Picture is showing up vs Displayed Date

We are working with two different versions of Word. On one version the Date
is showing up as 3/23/2006 (the date), but on the other version, it is
showing up as the hyperlink { DATE\@ "M/d/yyyy"}. How do you get it to show
up as the Date vs the hyperlink?

Press Alt+F9. This is a toggle -- pressing it repeatedly will switch the
display back and forth.

By the way, these are NOT hyperlinks, they're field codes.
