If anyone can help me, I would be most grateful. I created a diagram
(using Word 2000) which consists of several rectangular Autoshapes plus
text, lined up using tabs, with headings and arrows leading from text to
Autoshapes.

Now I want to use the diagram in other documents, but when I copy and
paste, elements jump into new positions. I tried grouping, creating an
autotext entry out of the diagram, and various paste options, nothing
seemed to work.

How can I preserve the diagram and use it in other documents, as
created? Thanks for any advice from a desperate new user.

Hello Ann,

If the diagram and text can be viewed without having to
scroll, how about taking a picture of the page, (using the
PrintScrn key). Then open paint or another graphic program
and pasting it there. Be sure to use the paint toolbars
appropriately to remove unwanted objects form using the
PrintScrn key. In addition, you can download for free a
program called SnagIt. Save this as a valid jpg filename,
then you should be able to insert picture to any
application.

Just a thought,
Paul

If you can paste it into PowerPoint, then PP allows you to save individual
slides as image files (e.g. jpeg, ...) so then you can use it in other
documents more easily.

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you
include details of your application and Windows versions, and whether
or not you have included any service pack updates.
