I am using Office XP (Word
2002). I have Vista Business on my computer. I often need to insert one
file into another. My method: alt i l on the keyboard. I then type the
name of the file I want and press enter. Recently, the last part does not
work. When I type the name of the file and press enter, it is displayed in
the list but is not highlighted. I then have to mouse over to it and double
click.

Again, I know this sounds small but I really prefer using keyboard commands
whenever possible. Thanks.

I believe this will be controlled through the Windows Explorer options, as
are all things when using the browser window, and not by a Word option.
Probably best to ask in the XP forum.
maybe try
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.general&cat=en_us_0cc55ed7-e23e-4264-97e8-eb7d5a162b12&lang=en&cr=us

I have tried to emulate your problem and the only way the Insert File name
is not highlighted is if I hit the right or left cursor key but I can still
just press Enter to Insert.
Best of luck and come back if you do find the solution.
