    - Word cannot find files! My wife has encountered a weird problem using Word. She still uses Word 97 on a Windows 98 SE PC and does not want to change because she is busy with a teaching project at a university. She has all her Word data files in a single folder (separate partition from Word's) which contains several subfolders for the various courses she is involved in. Everything worked fine till yesterday. Yesterday, within Word she clicked on File/Open and the subfolder she was working in and found that though most of her files were there, a few (3-4) she was looking for were missing. In panic, she called for my help (I am the home PC "guru"). She was right. Most of the files showed up on Word's File/Open screen but the 3 she wanted did not show there. Using Windows "find" utility, I found the files were where they were supposed to be - in that Word data folder, but they still did not appear in Word's "File/Open" screen. They opened just fine in Word when I clicked on them in the Windows "find files" screen, so they were intact on the HD where they were supposed to be. It's just Word that could not find them.     - Retaining sender address for envelope printing I currently use Word 2003 (office 2003) with Office XP-SP2. I print envelopes every day using Word 2003. At the end of the day, I clean all garages with "CCleaner". Whenever I sweep with CCleaner, sender's address is also removed. I find it very inconvenient. My question is how to keep sender's address after cleaning with CCleaner. On the left side of the pane under CCleaner program, there is a Cleaner setting.     - Problem Inserting Headers and Footers Hi All, I have a problem with a large word doc in Word 2003. There are no section breaks in the document as I have deleted them all. The document has a title page, contents page and then the actual document. When I select View > Header and Footer - nothing happens - it is as though the headers and footers have somehow been deleted from my document (or something).     - Lost Recently Used File List in File Menu Hi. Windows XP Home, Pentium 4, 1 GB, Word 2003 Realized with a start today that the "Recently Used File List" option has disappeared from File Menu. I depend heavily on it. Double checked Tools > Options > General and the "Recently Used File List" option is enabled and 9 files are specified in the list box. On my computer, an AutoNew macro updates all the bookmarks upon filling the data into the Ask field boxes. I moved the template into a shared location on a network and had 22 people set up their Workgroups templates to beable to use the template. Up to this point everything worked perfectly. Then, I needed to furnish the template to about 100 people who are not network users and are located in far flung locations. I addressed this by e-mailing the template. When she goes to "Insert >> Date and Time" And she selects the "MM/DD/YYYY"
setting, it just shows up the letters. She would like the numbers to
actually show up. Is there any setting to fix that?

Tell your friend to try pressing Alt+F9 to see if that makes a difference.
