    - Jay! :Re:fields in report template I can't thank you enough for your help! I have made a good user form, however I would like to make it a little bit better. Currently, when I click "cancel" or the cross, my report template disappears and reverts to the "new document" template. I would like for my report template to stay on the screen. Also, I would like for some of my places on my user form to be a check box ie Gender - male or female...or my place for CityStateZip to be so me kind of pull down list because there are only a few choices for the area I work in....and I'm sick of typing it over and over!     - Upgrade Hey All I have a couple of simple questions for anybody. I found a good deal on an E-Machine that has all the system hardware requirements I need (for the multi-media stuff). However, it came with Windows XP Home edition installed as the default OS. Here are my questions 1) Besides the obvious differences between XP Home and XP PRO posted all over the Microsoft web site , what are the differences between XP Pro and XP Multimedia Editions? The url to a website that can provide answers to this question would be great 2) I haven't been able to find an upgrade path to move from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows XP Multimedia Edition.     - Horizontal and Vertical Rulers The Horizontal and Vertical Rulers do not display in Print Layout view. When I place the cursor as a pointer close to the upper margin the horizontal ruler appears and will remain displayed until I move the cursor. The same is true with the vertical ruler. When I place the cursor as a pointer close to the left margin the vertical ruler appears and remains until I move the cursor. This does not happen with a new document sometimes. How do you turn the horizontal and vertical rulers on and off if that is possible. Turning the horizontal and vertical scroll bars on and off is not the same. That is easy and is plainly explained in the on line help. The vertical ruler does not display when I go to Tools, Options, View, Print and Web Layout options, and check Vertical Ruler(Print View only). I was was trying to set some decimal tabs and need the horizontal ruler for that. Not having much luck setting the decimal tabs either. They are not working as it is explained in the book.     - form field tag order I need to change the order of the TAB movement through form fields in a form. The Help item states: "Depending on how your form is designed, the TAB key may not move the insertion point to the correct form field.     - Labels question... Everytime I open up any sort of labels template (in the Envelopes and Labels section), all I get is a blank page. The template is there as I can tab accross the labels but there are no more grey guidelines for visual aid.     - underline question Why can I not view "underlining" unless there is text present on the underlining or after it? I remember in WordPerfect I can choose underline and then hit the space bar and receive a line length of my choosing.     - Merging Changes into host file? I have sent my CV to various agencies via email attachment. When they try to open the file some are finding it difficult (attachment apparently impossible to open). When I review the files I sent, on opening the file from the email, I get the message "Do you want to merge changes with the original file located on my hard disc?" - Obviously I do not want this to go out with my emails.     - Autotext (filename) not updating when saved in a template/form By know I guess that you figured out that I'm not a Word expert! One more question/problem... I have inserted the Autotext 'filename' into the footer of my template/form. However, when that form is saved it a new name, the new filename doesn't show up (it just keeps the old filename).     - Creating and printing lots of different address labels! Aaargh!! I'm going crazy here! Sorry but I've tried everything I could think of and more but I can't seem to do something which seems so simple!     - How do you make a paragraph now show in the text but show in the document map? Sometimes you fall into a situation in which you need to insert a marker that denotes the starting of a new chapter so that the marker appears in the document map but do not appear in the main text. For example, when the first line of a new chapter starts with pictures instead of the chapter heading, you'd rather want a place marker right before the pictures because that's actually where the new chapter starts. The problem is, you wouldn't want the place marker to appear in the text. To get around it, i insert a place marker and set the font white, so that it does not appear in the main text but does appear in the document map. Would there be other get arounds to this situation?     - Word 2003 bug I just 'updated' from Office 2000 to 2003. Word 2000 obeyed an AddressLayout Autotext entry when using the insert from inserting an address from Address book button in the Envelopes and Labels dialog box. I am surprised to find that Word 2003 does not. I am even more surprised to find that this was a known bug in Word 2002: see KB article Q292127 dated 5/5/2001 (yes - 2001) which acknowledges that "Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in" Word 2002. Does anyone know why MS chose not to fix this? I use this feature of Word 2000 virtually daily. The bug makes it useless. The work-around offered in the nearly 3 year old KB article is a PITA!
