I recently setup Word 2002 (sp3) to enable Email within
Word using Hotmail under Windows XP(up to latest security
fixes as of 7/15/04). After I select the from, to
addresses, etc, I click the send or send copy button, Word
indicated it was sent, however, there were no trace of
the email.

Three hours later, the receipent got the emails. If I do
this over Hotmail, it is done within seconds! From what I
gathered, the Hotmail setup is correctly done.

The issues is why does it take so long?
Any help will be greately appreciated!

You would have to be connected when you send the mail. Otherwise, it will be
sent the next time you connect. Also, if you don't have "Send Immediately"
enabled, it will be sent to the Outbox but not sent until you explicitly
Send and Receive mail (at least this is the way it would work in
Outlook/Outlook Express).

Suzanne:
Thanks for the reply.
It is funny, I did have the "send immediately" enabled
but some how the "Schedule automatic Send/Receive" every
nn min was not checked! Anyway, after I enable
the "Schedule automatic Send/Receive", I was OK.
Thanks, once more.
