    - defining table cells using empty lines Hi, I have a large Word (2003) document consisting of item descriptions. Most descriptions are more than a line long and each are separated by an empty line. I'd like to turn this into a table, but converting to table merely splits each separate line into a cell. I'd like each description to be in one cell. Is there any way to create a table where Word uses an empty line to mark each cell extent? Here's an e.g. of the data: 150 Yoke shafted and hump backed pin. Shank tapers to fine point and has rounded section. Displays general polish. (Ill. ). Context: Period VI: S Entrance; Middle Ditch E Terminal; laminated midden and weathered materials. Length: 69 mm. 151 Yoke shouldered and slightly hump backed pin. The data has originally come from an old text file converted into Word, therefore there are sometimes odd spacings between text characters and the numbers you see at the beginning of each record - which I'm sure may make it more difficult to do what I want to do. I'd like the data to go into excel eventually, so any suggestions involving taking the data straight into excel would be welcome too.     - New Installation of Office 2003 OEM in Vista is a mess 1.Installation as such went pretty normal 2. Installed all available updates including SP3 3. Activation - OK Some of the consequences after installation: 1.Network printers stopped working (no big deal) 2. Big deal: every time I open an Office app., a window pops up: "MS Office End-User License Agreement. If you don't accept, this application will quit". After clicking "Accept" the application opens, but... 3. When I write a short test sentence, save the document, close and then open I see _many_ garbled chunks of text, but not the sentence I saved. 4. Did the "Repair" and later "Change" in Add/Remove Programs - no change. I wonder if uninstalling and reinstalling Office would change anything, and what about the activation (again)? Besides I'm not sure about the cause of the problems: maybe it's Vista and not Office.     - Set up of complex, multi-part documents? WORD 2007 What are the best practices for setting up complex, multi-part documents in WORD 2007? Specifically we want to be able to have 6 to 12 separate parts of a single document, set up in a way that we can quickly move from one part to another part; without scrolling through the pages. In EXCEL this can be done by using multiple "worksheets". In Lotus WORDPRO this can be done by creating what they call sections. How can I permanently active these macros (when I open the document later again)? However I do NOT want to change the document file itself.     - Pulldown Menus Problem I'm using Office 2003 on WinXP Pro SP2 + all Updates that I know of. This started about 4 weeks ago and the problem is that the checkbox for 'Show full menus all the time' keeps clearing itself when the program is closed (Word, Publisher and Outlook 2003). I thought it might have to do with CCleaner, even though I had 'de-clicked' Office completely.     - Inserting a template into a word .doc I do medical transcribing and need to keep inserting different templates into the same document. When I first open the "new" blank document I set the font and font size, then want to insert a template so I can fill in the blanks, but the font and font size do not look the same even though when I click on the letter and look up top to see what size the font is it says Arial 11. If I open the template and start typing then I cannot re-open it again for another dictation. I read somewhere the simple route is best in Word. So, simply I need to send one whole document for the day with a bunch of different doctors that each have their own "template" of the way they want their reports typed and I don't want to have to re-type each set of headings, just insert a template or whatever, and fill in the blanks!     - fix a field length? please help Hello, I have a table in a document with about 6 rows. It is more like a form, where there is a label and the user of this document can enter the value next to that particular label in each of the rows. Now, I need to fix the field length of one of the rows to 2000 characters. I thought that the best way to do this would be to insert a textbox in the 'value' column of that field. I used the Drawing Toolbar to insert a textbox. I have one main problem here. When I type in the text, it either goes out of the range or is displayed vertically. I have the following combinations in the Properties for each of those: 1. The text which I input into the textbox goes out of the range (which means, it goes outside of my table and outside of the word document. The combinations: Autosize: False Integral Height: True MultiLine: True SelectionMargin: False WordWrap: True 2. The text is entered vertically. Someone at work mentioned that Outlook 2007 must be open when using
Word's address book - is this true? Never used to be a problem...

No it is not true, however Outlook must be the default e-mail application.
