    - Retrieve image embedded in Word doc I inserted some images into a Word doc. Then by mistake I deleted the images (they're not in the Recycle bin anymore). Is there a way I can extract the images from the Word doc? I didn't compress the images or anything like that, so I'm hoping that the images are still there, intact.     - hyperlink Hi, I put some hyperlinks in my Word documents. BUt when I look at them, instead of usual underlined words I see something like {ref ...}. How I can see the ordinary words? For example, I put a bookmark in the end of my document and in the begining of document, I insert a hyperlink to it. This hyperlink is over a word like "end". When I point the cursor over "end" and click, I go directly to the end of document. But in my final document, instead of an underlined and with different color "end", I see {ref ...}.     - Update Table of Contents Word 2007 - I created an automatic table of contents using field entries in Word 2000. It worked find. Now, when I open it in Word 2007, edit the document and hit F9 the automatic TOC has extra tab marks that screws up the formatting.     - Can't Read Word 2003 docs backed up Vista now using Office 2007 SP1 Before I had Office 2007, I was using Vista (actually since it's Beta began, and I backed up what I think were my Word 2003 documents to DVD. I'm not sure if I can determine what version of Word was used but they should have been Word 2003 before any Betas of 2007 were available. I'm using Vista SP1 and Office 2007 SP1 on this box currently and both have every available update to date. Now when I go to open up, the backed up docs they show up in gibberish. I searched the MSKBs, Word Help on the MSFT sites, etc. and I downloaded the latest version of the MSFT Office Word Viewer. It doesn't help. I downloaded the "Compatibility Pack" and it did nothing. I used my old version of Word (I think it was Word 2003) to create / amend HTML files for several websites - all of which are live and will need occasional maintenance.     - Graphics only visible in Full Screen Reading mode I created a simple graphic in Visio 2003, which I want to insert in a Word document. I am using Word 2007, but the document needs to be saved in compatibility mode. I have tried inserting the image in various ways and formats. They all print correctly, but are only visible on the screen in Full Screen Reading mode. In both Draft and Print layout, the images appear as an empty box.     - Normal template Recently, my computer gave out, and I replaced it with a new one running Vista home version. I also had to update my office programs to 2007. I can find my old normal template, but I am unable to replace the default normal template that word is using. I have established a location for templates and entered my old normal template there, but no joy.     - Deleting a document I have Windows Vista on my system. When I go to Start then type the name of the document I'm looking for in The Start Search field, the document shows up above the search field. I then right click it and select delete. I'm then asked if I want it to go to the recycle bin. I indicate yes but when i go back and search for it later it comes up again.     - Weird Auto-Zoom? I have 2007. When I'm zoomed in to "Page Width" (about 246%) and start typing in a table, and I hit space, the page zooms to "Whole Page." I've tried many things, including searching help, predictably to no avail. If I click the "Page Width" button it goes back, but reverts to "Whole Page" at the next space.     - Startup Word 2003 on the first Display of a multi monitor comupter I have the followin problem: When working in Word 2003 on a 3-display computer and working on the third display, when I close word and start it up on a 2-display computer, I can't see the Word page.     - Problem creating a Christmas Card I'm experimenting in creating a Card. Card size is 6 7/8 X 10 Folded down across the middle becoming a 6 7/8 X 5 document. I'm trying to create the inside greeting so it will be on the BOTTOM half of the card when a person opens it.. I set up the document size as 6 7/8 X 10 and then keyed in the greeting in the 5" to 10" area (bottom half.) Word always prints the greeting in the TOP HALF rather than the BOTTOM HALF!     - Pleading Paper - Enveloopes I use 1-28 ruled and numbered pleading paper (based on the legal pleading template - Word 2007). My "proof of service" document includes mailing addresses, single spaced in the document which is typed on the pleading paper. However, when I block the mailing address and click the envelope icon to create an envelope, the address appears double-spaced! I have a document that includes a mailing list of 20 attorneys.     - Word Template problems I have a problem re-opening a saved page of labels in Word 2007 and displaying the text I have inserted AND the template outline. I want to re-label my VHS collection and have bought a pack of Avery media labels for the purpose. In Word I've chosen 'Mailings' then 'Labels' then 'Options'. I've selected the Avery product, clicked OK' and 'New document'. Up comes a page with a row of video spine labels visibly displayed. I can enter text and tab down to the next 'label' with no problems. So far so good! The problem arises when I save the page as a template and assign a name, e.g. "VHS labels". I can find that document in the location where it's been saved but when I subsequently try to re-open it to continue entering more text, (a) the outlines of the labels have disappeared from the page and (b) the page does not appear named as "VHS labels" but as "New Microsoft Word Document (3,4,5 or whatever). The text previously entered is still there and visible but I want to see the outlines of the labels as they appeared when the page was first opened and surely if "VHS labels" is selected to be re-opened it should appear as the title of the document/template page?     - printing *stuff* on an envelope? Hello, I am using Word 2003 on Windows Vista. I am trying to type stuff on the face of a standard size 10 envelope, or any envelope for that matter. I want to type in the months of the year and a check box in front of each month for gas receipts. When I go to labels and envelopes that only lets me print addresses and return address. I have tried setting the margins on a new page the same as the envelope size but when I type it out it is of course in portrait mode but my printer (HP LaserJet 3050) only accepts envelopes lengthwise. When I use landscape mode it just changes the paper but the text is still horizontal. If I do that and then select all text and try and go to text direction, it's grayed out. I don't know how to accomplish this. Just to be clear, I want to type the months of the year with a check box in front of each month and a heading "Gas receipts" at the top on the face of an envelope. Anyone here know how to do this?     - unable to change address box default font Can anyone tell me how to make Word 2007 accept my preferred font (in this case, Lucinda Sans) for the Mailings address and return address boxes? I set the font, size, etc., that I want, tell it I want this as the default and click OK -- and then it goes right back to the basic serif font, which I dont want. I did succeed in fixing this once and it held for a while, but now it won't hold, even whien it shows Lucinda Sans on the screen as the default.     - Using Heading Styles Hi All, I am using heading style 1 for a document. The heading style is blue, calibra, 14 pt. (I guess that's the default for this heading). When I cut a heading with some text and pasted it to another place in the document all the text took the attributes of the heading style. Why is it blue? WordArt is the only thing that will create that within word - you
select that as Word Art Shape. Many image editors can map text to any
curve, but you would have to create an image and then insert that
image into your document to show that text.
