I like Word 2002 to accent certain characters automatically. Is there a way
to set that up? For example: Lets use (Resume) with the (e's) accented.

The way I did the example, I went to:

FORMAT > AUTOFORMAT > OPTIONS > AUTOCORRECT and typed in what I wanted when
resume was spelled. Now if only a few words are needed this method is ok.
But what if you have 50 or so? Is there a master way of doing this somehow
or what I describe is it???

Thanks,
MarkC

I find it just as easy to use the built-in keyboard shortcuts (such as
Ctrl+', e for é) for most words, *especially* "résumé" because unless you
use a "trigger" other than "resume," you won't be able to type "resume"
without getting accents. But if you want certain words to be accented
automatically, you have no alternative to creating individual AutoCorrect
entries for them.

Ok, & thanks... By the way you wouldn't know where I can find the full
listing of all the keyboard shortcuts on one list?

For special characters, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm. For keyboard
shortcuts in general, type "shortcut keys" into Word's "Type a question for
help" box. You'll get topics listing keyboard shortcuts, instructions on
printing a list of shortcut keys, etc. The primary article (which you have
to scroll down a bit to find in the search results) is "Keyboard shortcuts,"
which lists them all, by category. BTW, in addition to the method detailed
in "Print a list of shortcut keys," you can also select "Key assignments" in
the "Print what" box in the Print dialog.

Hi Suzanne,

I type a lot of Spanish and tried using the Ctrl sequence=20
for CTRL+~,N. For some reason most of the accented=20
characters work but this sequence does not seem to work. =20
Is there something I am doing wrong? I am using WORD2000.

Hi Suzanne,

Never mind my previous post. I just realized that I have=20
not been using the shift key for the ~ in the sequence.
