When I edit my word docs it opens in read only mode, my docs are not
read-only docs. I have to resave the docs with different file names every
five saves. Help????

This will be an incompatible add-in breaking Word's save command or (less
likely) the result of some type of incompatible network utility.

TO test for the former run Word in Safe Mode. From Start, Run (Winkey+R),
type in

winword /a

and press enter. Open a document and test for editing, saving, closing,
opening and editing again (make sure that Word is in Safe Mode again). If it
is OK now, then you have installed something that has placed an incompatible
add-in in Word/Office.

See how to find add-ins
