ms word 2003 error creating ~ file and vanishing original doc file

I opened a previously saved word document (.doc) file and it has
happened now atleast 4-5 times when the word document suddenly created

~wrl document and the message was flashed saying error in the disc
accesing the document, it didnt save the document.

this ~wr created doc becomes a hidden file and on opening it just gives

my computer name in one of the pages and few junk characters.
i lost my all data stored in the word document. The best part is that
the original doc file disappeared from the folder in which it was
stored.. what could be the problem.. i have scanned my pc . with
windows one live care also

Any file that begins with ~$wrl is a temporary file and may or may not be
your document; it is *never* the current version of your document. See
"Description of how Word creates temporary files" at
