mw word disappears when minimize and try to reopen

Why does ms word disappear when I minimize and try to reopen? Here is the
situation that happens daily: I open ms word and then minimize it to access
another page. Then I go back to ms word and click on the icon on the bottom
of the screen to pull the page up then POOF--it all disappears. I have
experimented with this and it happens whether or not I am using multiple
pages, other programs, the internet, etc...It happens frequently. This has
been an ongoing problem for several months. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled my software but it continues to have this error. I have Mc Afee
and Ad Aware, I have "cleaned" my hardware, I have "defragemented" my files.

Whats the problem?

You have a corruption in the handwriting utility in Office. Run Office setup
and uninstall the Handwriting Recognition option. Restart Word and it should
now be OK. You can then run Setup and reenable the handwriting recognition
if you use it.

Thanks for the ideas. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my software and
that seemed to work for some reason. I am not sure why--but it took care of
the problem!
