The trial version is just that -- a trial version. After a while the trial
runs out and you get to actually buy it.
You might look into Open Office if you can't afford it.
The least expensive way to purchase Word is as part of the Microsoft Works
suite. If you qualify, though, Microsoft Office for students or teachers is
close in price.
