I have found two different client machines that have what would look like the
email sendto, carbon copy, blind carbon copy and subject fill in boxes at the
top of the Word application that I can not seem to find away to get rid of. I
have right clicked on the blank area of the tool bar to see what tool bars
are active but I find that the email tool bar is NOT active. I have also
tried to go into the customizing of the app and still could not find a way to
get rid of it for my clients. Both clients wanted to get rid of it because it
takes up too much room at the top and wanted a bigger picture of the forms
they were making or viewing. The first computer was on Windows 98SE and the
other Windows XP Home edition.... Pretty bad when I can not find the
solution.... help people???? Did I miss the obvious????

The version of Windows is less relevant here than the version of Word. If
it's Word 2002 or 2003, you should have an E-mail button on the Standard
toolbar. It is a toggle; click it again to turn it off. Alternatively,
choose File | Send To | Mail Recipient again.

Hi Ken,

You can generally turn them off by either using
File=>Send to and unchecking there or toggling the
'envelope' icon on the Word toolbar.
