clkg on SAVE or SAVE AS produces no result. clkg on X for closing brings the
usual "do you want to save, etc..." clkg on YES produces no result; clkg on
NO will close WORD without saving, of course.

If I use RUN & type in WINWORD /A, the resulting use of the program will
allow saving the document with no problem.

I am using WINXP PRO with OFFICE 2003.

If you are using Norton AntiVirus, disable its Office Plug-in.

Thanks, Anne for the "road map". From the article's info, I was able to set
up a shortcut (/a). This seems to cure the symptoms rather than the disease,
but at least I can save my work. Appreciate your help!

Thanks, Suzanne, that's one plug-in I forgot about, however it did not have
any effect when running Word w/o the switch (/a).

Check then to see if there is a macro named FileSave or FileSaveAs; if so,
note what add-in it is in.

Couldn't find and macro with either name. Of course, there is a very real
possibility that I don't know where to look, but under TOOLS/MACROS in Word,
there were none with those names. Thanks.

Hi, Lil. Though the information at the link is Excel, it's very similar, and
even easier to do it with Word. Instead of ThisWorkbook, it's ThisDocument,
and of course we don't have any sheets.
