In Microsoft Word 2000 I get the following message when I
launch the application. "Word cannot open this document
template. C:\WINDOWS\...\STARTUP\toolbar.dot)"

1. Replaced the normal.dot template.
2. Have checked to make sure that the toolbar.dot is in
the startup folder in MS Word.

Thanks
Julie

Hi Julie,

It sounds like "Toolbar.dot" is not a valid add-in. Have you tried to
remove it from the Startup folder?

Also note if Toolbar.dot is a document masquerading as a template then
you will encounter this error. By this I mean if the file had a *.doc
extension and it was changed to *.dot then it isn't a valid template.
