option email is not longer active

When in a Word 2007 document, I click on "send", the option "email" is not
active any more.
Has anybody how to put it again active?

You need to add the old Send As attachment command to your Quick Access
Toolbar. But note this will only work if you have OUTLOOK 2007 too. It won't
work with Windows Mail or Outlook Express.

Hi Terry,

FWIW in Word 2007, t he Office Button=>Send=>Send as Email
is the 'FileSendAsAttachment' command. :) ('Email')

In Windows XP, both that command and the 'not in ribbon',
'Send to Email recipient' (which would need to be added to the
Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
work for me with Outlook Express or Thunderbird (with the latter, Send to Email Recipient' command sending out, not as an
attachment, but as HTML email).

What's not clear though is if the reason that it does work with Outlook Express is because the edition of Office 2007 did include MS
Office Outlook 2007, or if it's just registry entries that turn the command on, assuming that there is a 'MAPI' email product
(Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird) avaialble.

Thanks for the correction. So it 'should' work with other email clients but
may need registry edits if Word is not part of an Office Suite that includes
Outlook. (And of course, you need to add the 'working' command to the QAT.)
I hope SP1 is going to fix this <g>.
