word 2003 will not let me open old word files it says ..."You are attempting
to open a file that was created in an earlier version of Microsoft Office.
Thie file type is blocked from opening in this version by your registry
policy setting"

Older Word formats have been deemed "unsafe". To get around it, you will
need to modify the registry:

I have done this... and it worked.
