Using Word 2000 on Windows 2000.

My ToC loses its formatting unpredictably (and somewhat frequently).
I've deleted the ToC and re-inserted it (resetting the formatting),
but that doesn't help.

I can't tell when the ToC will reformat; there is no real pattern to
it. For example, I might open/close/open the document and the ToC
will be fine; other times, I might open/close/open the doc again and
the ToC will have lost its formatting.

Does selecting it and pressing Ctrl+Q help? How about F9? Note that deleting
and reinserting the TOC is *not* recommended because Word creates new
bookmarks every time you do that.
