so, i tried to search through previous messages to find
out how to unock a microsoft word, when it is locked and
i couldn't find the answer. please help me, i have a lot
of work on this program!!! thanks!

Hi Laura,

If you have Word 2002 and are encountering "Document locked for edit"
in the status bar then it sounds like an activation issue. Did you
activate Office? Is your version of Office an evaluation copy? Has it
been installed on more than one PC? Note that Office XP is licensed
for one PC only and possibly the owner's laptop depending on your
EULA.

Go to Help/Activate Product to either activate Office or to obtain a
phone number you can call for assistance in activation issues.
