    - MS Word - page numbering I have a document with a 3-page Table of Contents (I number those pages i, ii & iii) and then the body of the work follows (I number those pages 1, 2, 3, ...). I set up the footer to include "page number" of "number of pages". In my 163-page document, the last page footer reads: "160 of 163." It includes the TOC pages in the total.     - Winword caused an invalid page fault in module RPCRT4.DLL OS = Win98 Office ver = Office 97 I have been getting this error message on a couple of PCs now. It happens that one will attempt to open an email attachment and the error message appears. After you close the message, Winword will not start and you cannot open any other word documents. Also, you are unable to open excel documents after that. I observe that after I restart the affected PC, winword works fine...but until some later time when you try to open some documents. NOTE: A document will at one time cause winword to give the error, but when you restart, the same document opens fine with no error. How do I get a permanent solution?     - Spell Check Hi, I am running Word 2000 on a laptop running Windows 2000 service pk 4. When I try to run spell check the application does not open up. The blue at the top of the screen flashes.     - MS word 97 very slow in opening files Hi all, I have recently migrated my users from NT4 server to Server 2003. The server 2003 acts as a file and print server as well. Users were using WinNT4 workstations with Office 97 and XP workstations with Office 2000. The problem I have encountered was that whenever a user tried to open a Word document, it will take very long for the document to open up. It doesn't happen to the XP users.     - Word 97 will not open I am trying to help my father fix a Word problem. He is running Windows 2000 and Office Pro 97. He opens word from the start menu and the word logo flashes across the screen then immediately minimizes to the task bar. Word remains this way and will not maximize or restore.     - Comment boxes I have made a comment box and inserted some superscript numbers. However when the comment shows up when the mouse hovers over it then the superscript it shown as normal.     - Word print out of margin Hello, I am going to detail the problem. I have same documents in A4 format in such a way that enter 25 lines of text, with Courier New font. These documents are printed in double slide leaves, first odd and then the even. In some of these and some occasions (I could not find any relation) Word prints a page with 26 lines, is to say adds one line in one page. The fault is only in the print since in screen it is seen ok, moreover does not do it always, since if we return to print without correcting nothing the printing is ok. At this moment I am using Word XP with Win XP, but the fault also makes with Word 2000 and Win 98. I print with laser printers Lexmark T522 or Optra S 1650 with font sustitution activated. I have proven to change driver of the printer but it did not give result (it does so much with drivers PCL as with postscrip, which would indicate that it is not a problem of drivers of printer).     - trouble the first time i save/print/customise etc etc in any doc Please help: i find that in Office XP the first time i try to do anything involving a document box eg 'save as', 'print', 'customise' etc etc the document becomes inactive in that it is there but flashes normal colour and "grey-out/inactive" colour alternately and the taskbar icon flashes orange; i have found that the dialogue box i want is opened but it is opened "behind" the doc and it seems to struggle flashing between these 2 open boxes. i have to click on the doc dialogue box making it minimise , then i can use the command box i wanted, then i can use the document normally. this only happens with the 1st command i select [no matter what it is] and all other times everything works as normal. i have also found that if i dont click on a document to open it directly, but instead if i open word, then select 'open-->doc' then again i never get this proeblem and all dialogue/command boxes open normally. i know it seems a monir problem but it is annoying; i have reinstalled office with no effect, tried thr repair facility and it even happens after i reinstalled everything from a clean reformat [not done for this!] the only other software i get this same prblem with is SPSS - could some conflict here be the problem? all help greatly appreciated; i have tried posting to the applications section but no joy Tag: fast find Tag: 68076

Last week I began getting a message, when I opened select Word documents, that said, "The dimensions after resizing are too small or too large." I was not able to close the message box, or close the beginning of the opened document. Everything froze. Since that time the message pops up and the resultant problem occurs when I go to a blackboard.com, to read class documents in an online class.     - word tool and file access the only thing i can suggest is to remove word and all office programs. be sure to save your normal.dot file someplace else and note what subdirectory it is in before removing word in the event you have stored a bunch of macros in there or made changes to your toolbar that you don't want to setup again. also save any templates in a secure place. then reinstall office. then reinstall word. check that you can access the problem areas. then copy normal.dot to the proper subdirectory and make sure it is loaded. an error about filters not installed, all I can find on
the MS site is that fast find is hidden and disabled, how
can I enable this. I'm running 2 PC'sw2k and xp both with

If installed correctly, you'll find it as an applet in the Control panel.
