Hi All,

I would like to know if I delete the microsoft shared folder under common
files and I re-install office 97 will that folder be re-written? I am
having a problem and want to see if this will help fix it. any help would

No you cannot delete the Shared Folder, especially if its use by other users
on the computer. If you are having a problem with Office 97, either
reinstall or apply the latest Service Release and Patches. I think messing
with Shared Folder can be unwise decision, especially its so integrated into
Windows.

Gary

It should not cause any problems but I would copy it to an anonymous folder
somewhere away from Program Files just in case! Reinstalling Off97 should
recreate the folder.

Hi Terry,

I deleted most of the shared folder. It was re-created upon re-installing
office 97. Doing this fixed the problem I was having re-opening an html
file. I still can't upgrade to sr2. sr1 installed without any problem.
thank you and the other mvp's for all your help.
