Can someone help me?

We use word2000 templates in our company. Since we have updated some of the
computers with word2003, we cant open or use some of the word2000 document
templates. Word (german version) displays an error message that the computer
has insufficient memory. But this is not the problem, because this error
occures on every computer with word2003, I have tested. We use Office 2003
with all updates installed on windows XP (german version) with automatic
updated enabled.
Our virus scanner is etrust antivirus and we are using a novell network. The
error also occures, when I have copied the template at a local directory.
The error doesn't occure, when we use word2000.

Can someone help us?

Best regards

Joerg

Unfortunately, that error message is a catchall that is displayed for
virtually everything that Office cannot find the real reason for!

With the template locally installed, use File, Open, select the template and
then use Open and Repair to see if that finds the problem/incompatibility.

Dear Terry Farrell,

I have tested your suggestion. It is possible to open the template with the
repair-option and it is possible to save the file with an other name, but
when I want to use the new file as template, the same error message
occures.

When I want to save the template after using the repair-option, a popup
occures with the option to show the repaired parts of the document. When I
use this option, no change or error is displayed.

Best regards

Joerg

I have opened the template with the option open/repair, then I have saved
the file as .rtf, then I have opened the .rtf file and saved it as .dot
template. This works.
