I'm working in a very simple document in Print Layout View. When I get to the end of page 1, Word will not insert an automatic page break. What I type disappears as if going to a new page, but the page count is still 1. If I go to Normal view, I can see what I typed. When I try to print the document, only 1 page prints.

I can open a old file and Word will add pages as necessary.

Any ideas what is happening here? Do I have something set that I don't know about?

Patti

Have you installed and assigned a default printer driver?

If you're not typing in a text box or a table that has become wrapped, check
Format | Columns to make sure it is set to 1.

Thank you, Suzanne.

I thought about columns, but looked in the wrong place to check the problem. I'll have to fix this so that all my new documents don't have 2 columns.
