 - Word 2007 Checkbox I have a user survey for that contains over 125 checkboxes that I created using the legacy tools. When I convert the document to an Adobe PDF and run the Field recognation it finds all however, when the checkbox in the PDF is cheched, it changes the box to solid black.  - Mouse and Tab do not work in Word 2007 but on menu I create a new Word 2007 document and it will not recognize my mouse or tab key anywhere in the word document. In order to fix the mess the template sets up with standard 12 point spacing I have to use the up arrow, hold down the shift key and use the down arrow to highlight. Then "using the mouse on the menu" I can change the font spacing.... The mouse does now work for right click either.... A lot of times Word just freezes and says searching for solution...but with all the 2007 products not one ever has a solution to its crashing or freezing....oh, and I am using Vista. The menu really needs a quick point for the user to set up their own standard settings like the font size, set up like Arial versus what comes standard....etc...  - Heading of document does not print in Word 2007 Hi All I have a template that I use to generate invoices. When I save my document and send it to print , the Heading does not print, even though it shows in Print Preview. I have tried the following: 1. Changed print driver 2. Save the document in pdf format and see if the header prints 3. Repaired office 4. Cut and paste into another blank document. The header is not hidden. I have been unsuccessful in the above attempts.  - word 2007 won't undo The undo option often stops working in Word 2007, with new and existing documents. Ctrl-Z doesn't work and the undo button is greyed out. It is not due to working with previous versions (it happens with docx). I have to close down Word and restart to re-enable it. I installed Office 2007 over Office XP 3 weeks ago, on Windows XP.  - error 4148 when opening Word [AutoExec] We upgraded from office 2003 to 2007 in our organisation but it seems that our word menu page doesn't seem to be working properly on some of the computers that got upgraded while on other it work perfectly. the error message: "Error 4148 during processing, Invalid filename or invalid number" Looking at the code in Microsoft's VBasic the error seems to appear on: "Documents.Open FileName:="L:\Dot2008\menu.dotm", ReadOnly:=True" I have tried an office re-instalation which didn't solve anything, it seems to be pc based as when I log another user from the network on the pc where it worked it still works Tag: Word XP revizion problem Tag: 122359

 - Accept All command hangs program When I try to Accept All Changes in a document, Word 2007 freezes. The Word diagnostic does not show a problem. Reparing Office did not solve the problem either.  - Ghost Figures appear when I check my Cross-Reference list Hi I'm using Word 2003 with an XP pro machine, and I have the strangest thing going on. I'm working on a chapter of my thesis, and I was trying to figure out why my figure 2-3 was being labeled as 2-4 in the caption, even when I waas trying to "update field". When I perform "Insert- Reference- Cross Reference" however, I see that there are indeed two tables which neither belong to this chapter, nor have they ever been entered into this chapter, as figures 2-3 and 2-5. I have tried everything i can think of to try to rid myself of the offending "references" but I can't find them.  - cant type into dialog box in Word 07 when I try to create a customized shortcut key (Home/FormatParagrah command) in the Customize Keyboard dialog box, I am unable to type anything at all. At first I could type Alt and a letter, but I escaped by accident then came back into the dialog and now I cant type anything in it. I switched documents, same thing. suggestions? There are two files here Normal dotm and Email dotm I managed to delete the email dotm but the normal keeps comming back after deleting it. I tested it and the first word doc that I open is normal without the dialog message the second doc I opem gives me the dialog message by this point the normal dotm has re-appeared after deleting it I have confirmed this by looking in the folder. If someone can tell me how to get rid of this file for good my problem is solved. I am sure. I do not know how??????????????? Update When I turn off my user account control setting as administrator I am able to delete the template perminantly and fixes the issue but when I turn it back on my issue comes back. Anyone??  - document gone I was just working on something for four hours in Microsoft 2007. I saved repeatedly because it is so important. When I saved it the last time, the program froze. I had to end the program, thinking I'd get my document back without the few last changes I had made. But now, when I go to open it, it says it cannot be located. It is no longer even listed in "my documents" (where i'd been saving it) but it is still in My Recent Documents from the Start Menu. I need it so badly, I have no idea what to do.  - Word 2007 greek crahes when opens word 2003 document which is enab Hi to all, I have windows vista home premium greek and use office 2007 home and student greek version again. I'm studing for many years in Slovakia and have tried many times to speak with ms slovakia and Greece support and nobody know to give me an exact answer to my following problem. When I open in word 2007 , a greek word 2003 document with enabled spelling check the word 2007 crashes and not responding.I have try to disable in other computer the spelling in word 2003 document and reopen the same document with disabled spelling in word 2007 and the word 2007 does not crashes! It is really so strange.I have search the communities and understand that many people have the same problems and it is like a bug and nobody gives an answer.Does microsoft do something about that? Or it is not a bug? I have tried to disable addins, to reinstall office , to make clean installation but the same. On "clean pc" without programs installed only office and have the same issue again. Could someone helps me please? I am using word 2003 for many years and I did not had such problems.As I checked this occurs only on greek systems! Thanks in advance.  - Cut, Copy, Paste unavailable Using word 2007 anytime I select text and right click, my cut, copy and paste options are greyed out. If I select them using the toolbar they work, and it is only word having this problem, not excel, outlook, etc... I tried holding ctrl when starting up (safe mode) and the options are available when I do this. The only add-in that shows up in Word is PPC e-tools.  - Word 2000 freezes upon opening I have had Word 2000 for a long time and it was working fine. i think it stopped working shortly after I updated to SP3, but I could be off. It won't open. It freezes. If i try opening it with winword.exe /a it works fine (as suggested on the help site that you guys list frequently). I looked for normal.dot, there is nothing in my computer. I had deleted it previously. I found the startup path (another help that was listed to try)but there isn't anything in that folder. I don't have Norton Antivirus I have Trendmicro.  - Word and Excel cannot open files - application hangs I am experiencing a problem I do not understand. This applies to Word 2007 and Excel 2007, running on Windows XP. windows and Office are up-to-date, with all security patches applied. With Word Open, If I try to open a file (Office Button, <open>), I receive an hourglass that sits until I close Word with the Task Manager. No dialog box, nothing - just an hourglass that waits. I have the same problem with Excel 2007. However, If I use Windows Explorer to find a file, and double click on the filename with Word not open, Word will start and open the file. When I try to save an auto text entry I get a message about how either Word crashed and has a read lock on the normal.dot file or something else has happened that won't allow me to save the entry.  - First character problem I have a problem with MS word 2003 /2007. It does not accept first character if it is croatian layout keyboard (Ä?.Ä?.Å¡.Ä?,Å¾). Also it happens wit bosnian and serbian layout. If I press space then I cane type croatian characters but I can not type it as first character. Operating system is Win XP SP 2 (HP OEM computers preinstalled) wit MS OFFICE 2003 basic edition. I have tried office 2007 but the problem is same.  - Inserting a excel table into word error Hello, I have been working on this for about a week now and I am at a loss. Word 07 will not allow me to insert and excel table into a word doc. When I try I get a error similar to: The program needed to perform the is operation is Excel. Install the program and retry. I get this error if I try to insert the table through the tabl drop box or the insert object drop box. Any way possible, I get it. I have Excel 07 so I am wodnering why it will not let me. I thought DDE was the problem but it is not ignored through excel so I do not know what is going on. I believe it may be a registry setting but I am not sure where to look.  - Word 2003 Footnote has Ten (10!) Returns Between Line and Text And I didn't put them there. Worse, I can't figure out how to make them go away, nor can I find anything about this issue in the various databases. I've never seen this before -- has anyone else had this issue? One thing I did notice, not that it helped, is that while the phantom returns are greyed out in Normal or Page View, if I open the Header and Footer they become black.  - why doesn't Word suggest changes or allow me to ignore words? In a document sometimes it does offer suggestions, but when I choose them, it does not change them in the document, I have to manually change things and then hit resume. Spellchecker gives me the option to undo edit, but will not allow me to "ignore changes."  - Word has "stopped working" says the message. How do I restore it? My MS Office Word does not allow me to do reghular operations any more. E.G. I can type but not insert letter in the middle of a word, not highlight, not erase portions of a text.  - file permission error Hi all, I get this file permission error (see link). I then re-save in a new name, type away for some time, and then it happens again. Sometimes I can type for a whole day w/o any problem, and sometimes it happens every 5 min.  - Word 2007 constantly crashes Gradually, I noticed that Word 2007 would crash and restart. Recenlty it bgan crahing frequently, to the point to where a message screen appeared suggesting that Word be repaired. I inserted the disc and went through the repair function. Nothing changed, I cannot open a document without going through the Word file menu. I cannot edit without using my keyboard arrows to move the cursor; no copy, cut or paste functions. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document." She has to reboot before Word works correctly, but the problem reappears after a day or two.  - Help! "Setup has encountered a problem updating my system registr I'm a professional writer and my work has come to a dead halt until I get this problem solved. I have a newer computer, Vista OS, and I use word '97 from my "MS 97 Works CD". I was writing awayi when my word '97 suddenly froze. It would not respond. I activated my (12 ghosts) backup copy, but the same thing happen. My word was frozen. I rebooted, reinstalled my word '97 (twice), but on each setup I got the error message: "Setup has encountered a problem updating your system registry". (It did finish the installation, but the original problem was still there.) At some point (I forget where) I also got the error message "Word stub has stopped working". I went onto the web and found the error discussed, but the fixes didn't apply to me (nor would I have been able to understand them, if they had). Whe an user add text to a document, this is inserted
underlined....perfect!
But when I delete a word, It only change color and It don't became bar

Open the Track Changes Options dialog (most easily, right-click the letters TRK
in the status bar at the bottom of the Word window and choose Options). Change
the settings for deletions to whatever marking and color you want.
