What are the registry keys which are updated when visual basic initialises?
The PC is an NT 4.0 build with Office 97 standard sr2.

When a user opens Word and tries to access macros the following error
message is displayed: 'Visual Basic cannot be initialised....please run set
to install...'

If the user is set with admin permissions the error is not encountered. I
have tried all the help features in the microsoft knowledge base without
success. I think there are access restrictions on the registry and wanted to
grant the permissions to the keys so that the error is not encountered for a
normal user.

I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thank
you.

Did you do a custom (complete) install for this user? That's likely the
problem.

Hi, it was a custom install but the only items not installed are Word Mail
options and Outlook.
