Suzanne provided you a link to an article on how to correct the issue
with new documents but if you have any documents you already created
then to correct them try the following:
- Go to Format/Columns
- Click "One" in the Presets section
- Click OK
Note it is important you click "One", rather than verify "1" column is
selected. Using "One" in the presets will make sure the disabled
"Equal column width" option at the bottom of the dialog box is
selected which is important or modifications to page margins,
orientation, etc. will be limited.
