 - Weird problem with styles, Document Map stle While working with a pretty large document, I found that the text within many tables is now in a style called "Document Map." This style does not turn up on my Style list unless I've selected text in that style. Also, I cannot switch that text to another style (in this case, a style I've named 'Normal'). So far, the only solution I've found is to re-create the tables, which is NOT an easy job on this document. Can someone tell me what's gone wrong? I'm using Word 2002.  - problems on my word 7.0 i'm very frustrated, i just bought this laptop with windows xp and word 7.o installed, i'm trying to write a book, but everytime i go on to a certain page i get "error reporting" and when i either send or unsend it errases my word document, or it disappears and reads Works cannot open "c/document and settings/my documents/bookidea.wps" the file maybe in use by another applicaton(which one i try to find out.) the file format may not support by any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt. Know i had to reinstall my harddrive, but if i'm writing a novel i can't go on losing my work.. can anyone help me or shall i sue Microsoft..?? HELP!!!  - 2nd post with additional info. In Microsoft Word 2000 I get the following message when I launch the application. "Word cannot open this document template. C:\WINDOWS\...\STARTUP\toolbar.dot)" 1.  - Scanning and Service Pack 3 Prior to installing SP3, when a document was put into the scanner a box would pop up with applications you wanted to scan into. After 3 install, that box is empty.  - Word clears clipboard Any time I launch Word, the clipboard is emptied. Once Word is open, I can jump to other apps and copy from them and paste into Word, but if I Copy first, then open Word, whatever I copied is gone from the clipboard when Word finishes opening.  - Word 2002 Hangs Every time I try to open a word documtent over the network Word locks up. I have tried numerous documents; I have succesfully opened files in this share from another computer. With the computer that is having problems I have deleted the normal.dot, uninstalled and reinstalled Office, stopped the print spooler, ran norton 2002 utilities, rebuilt the profile and it is up to service pack 2.  - re-installing word 97 hey, my computer lost microsoft word 97 somehow and now all i have are wordpads. i have assisngment to do for uni and i need word so how do i get it back? ive already conducted searches all over my computer and its just not there. i have a cd for it and i tried to re-install it but it asked for a certificate of authenticity number which i think i may have lost or never got one anyway. is there any way on this website or any other that i can just retrieve word without having to bring my computer to a special shop coz thats what caused the priblem in the 1st place and they keep it for ages. any help would be really great. tanks, sinead x x x Tag: Word files closing unexepectedly Tag: 70062

 - opening Word document from a website into Word I'm having a problem with opening a Word document from a html page into Word, as the document is opening in quick view plus. I know that it isnt the html code that I've used as it opens into Word on one machine, but in quick view on another. so I'm guessing it is to do with the browser settings on the second machine making any documents opened online open into this specific program.  - word 97 Hello! whenever I open word, the new document has pictures on it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and they are still there. I have just done several types of virus scans and nothing is picked up. Also the monitor is not holding the right pixels, the screen is so big it can't all fit.  - Problems printing envelopes and letters Hi, I have a merge process that merges data into letters with attached envelopes for each letter. When I try to print the envelopes and letters at the same time, the printer error on the Lexmark comes up with MP Load Feeder Paper or something like that. This error occurs right after it successfully prints the first envelope and right before the letter that goes in the envelope. I have tried various page setup settings, changing the default tray to 2 (where the form letter paper is), but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?  - Word XP hangs on subdocument expansion I've got a master document that I've been working on for couple of years now, with some other members of my team. It's been getting messier as time goes by, and this last time I went to make some edits, I noticed that the bullets were showing up as number lists, and a few other formatting errors. Checking the formatting, I discovered these paragraphs were just "Body Text" with secondary styles, and by assigning a real "Style" to them, I could fix the problem. So I started on this process. Every now and then I'd get a "Word is running low on memory, you will not be able to undo" or even a hang ("stops responding"). But I could always recover. Now I'm totally jammed up. Whenever I attempt to expand the sub-documents, the application hangs and will not respond. Every time. I've tried turning off spell-checking. I've tried the "winword /a" option. I'm not using Speech recognition. Here's the weird bit. I can take the collectiono fsubdocs and the master doc to another computer and it'll open just fine.  - Office XP Installer error Office XP is installed on Windows 2000 Pro. When running with administrator rights, all is well. If a regular user tries to run an Office application they get Windows Installer which wants the CD. After inserting the CD, the system never tries to access it and gives an error 1706. BTW, this is on a laptop, and the problem seems to have started after an incident where the laptop went in to hibernation and refused to wake up. The battery was pulled to get it to respond again.  - Equation Editor Fails (Word 97 SR-2) Every time I try to use the equation editor in Word 97 (SR-2) it fails as soon as I type anything from the keyboard.  - Word 2000: Document name or path invalid? - No it's not I've got a couple of doc files that will open in Word 97 on Windows 98 and Word XP on Windows XP, but not Word 2000 on 98. The 'document or path is invalid' error appears, but there's nothing wrong with the paths or names, and the files are not using mail merge or HTML, which can also cause this error. The file has been passed around and edited by multiple users, but I'm surprised it's 2000 that's having problems and not 97. By resaving it as a rtf I managed to get them open on the 2000 machine, but I need to know why this occurred so that it may be prevented in the future. Any ideas? I'm stumped.
