Is this only in Word, or in all of Office?
If only in Word, some with this issue have found relief by deleting the Data
key in the registry (Word will automatically create a new Data key the next
time Word is started). Assuming you're using Word 2007, the data key is
found here in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word
Note that reinstalling does not fix the issue because the setup routine
likes to preserve existing settings. (Some of us are lobbying for a Word
startup switch that would clean out corrupted registry entries, rather than
requiring manual editing of the registry.)
