    - Document recovery Hi, Im running a terminal server session and using Word, but every time i load up Word a few documents appear in the document recovery pane. I have tried: -Deleting the files from the TS -Saving the files and doing what MSWORD asks -Removing all temporary files on the TS hard disk -Deleting all contents of the autorecovery folder -Changed location of the autorecovery file The files keep appearing even after i delete and i have no idea how they do it.     - Printed document does not match Word version When I print my document the printed version starts to diverge from the version I see in Print View in Word. Around page 19 two different printers start printing a few more lines per page than the page shows in Word. Eventually, the printed version is on a completely different page than the Word version.     - How can i speed up opening of a template? I have created a template with various combo boxes, radio buttons and tick boxes. It takes around 15 seconds to open a document based on the template/open the template. This occurs if the tempalte is saved locally or remotely so thats not the issue. There are no other performance/Word problems with my machine. I had coded the template to fill in a combo box when opening but even after removing that code it is still slow. I have tried the step of copying out the contents of the template and pasting it into a new one as suggested by a Microsoft KB article, but this didn't have any effect. All applications have the option to use different fonts, except MS Word. It only has one font available.     - word 2000 text gone, replaced by code Hi I've had this problem a few times. Sometimes when I send a document to the printer, it causes word to crash - this is probably a corrupt printer driver, I'm told. Trouble is, today it happened after I'd sent five pages of dictation to the printer and wiped the tape the dictation was on. Word crashed and when I opened it up again and found the document I was working on, prefixed by a dollar sign, all the text was gone and I was left with a few lines of rounded squares. Is there anything I can do to recover the document, or do I have to go on bended knee to my boss and ask him to re-dictate the five pages? Any help is much appreciated, thanks.     - Startup Task Pane Pains Hello Folks: Running Office 2003 Pro on Windows XP w/all SPs & patches installed, for one particular user we absolutely cannot get the task pane to go away. We've tried Tools, Options, View and unchecked the Startup Task Pane box, but when you restart Word, the damnable Startup Task pane CONTINUES to open, even though the checkbox in Tools, Options REMAINS unchecked! It is a befuddlement. We've tried detect and repair, we've uninstalled and reinstalled the application, all to no avail. This problem is specific to this user - logging in as administrator, turning off the option in Tools, Options keeps the Startup Task Pane from opening when Word is launched. I also tried to customize the installation to remove the startup task pane, but didn't see it listed as an option. At this point I'd love to know if there is a registry entry I can change to permanently disable the startup task pane for all users on this particular machine, or if there is another fix or work-around I'd love to know about it.     - Problems with Embedded word picture objects I have a 10 page document with a lot of word picture objects. Every 5 or so edits of any of these pictures corrupts them. A number of things happen: - Conversion of word picture object into picture - Object is drawn ok but is uneditable. When I right click on the picture, on the menu it says 'Object' instead of 'Picture Object' and selecting that option just gives object corrupt or unavailable. - Word crashes. The restored files often have the problems above. I've searched the web and I don't have any Norton firewall/virus checkers etc. installed.     - picture not visible after pasting Hello, When pasting an object (e.g. JPG picture) into a Word 2002 sheet, I see only an empty frame rather than the picture itself. If I change the layout via the Format Menue and Picture, suddenly the picture can be seen. It may disappear later again when switching temporarily to another application, but reappears after only starting to type.     - pro.msi I use office XP, i downloaded the sp3 for it, when it started installing it, it asked for the file pro.msi, because it could not be found. Previously had no problem displaying .doc files with Word 97 SR-2. Now some
document files are displayed (and printed) with a large white "stripe" from
near the top of the page to the bottom. White area is about 2 inches wide by
9 inches long and extends through inserted PowerPoint slides as well as
through text. Is this a bug? Is there a work-around?

Can't be sure, Ginny, but it's more than likely a printer driver issue. Make
sure you have the most recent driver file for your combination printer model
and operating system. Check at the printer mfr's website for it.
